Hotel Keflavik

We were out on a day trip in the area and ended the evening at the restaurant of Hotel Keflavik — good call. The 3-course menu started with a carpaccio, then a loin steak that was nicely tender, and finished with chocolate brownies with ice cream and fruit. After a long day out, exactly what we needed. Staff were very friendly and attentive throughout, without being pushy — we felt well looked after. Can only recommend.

The hotel was super accommodating when our flight was canceled. They were professional, kind, patient, and very helpful with our requests. Maria U was a fantastic receptionist - she answered questions with a smile, followed up with us as new information came available, and always did so with a smile!

After 14 days Iceland we were really looking forward to ending up in this hotel, beautiful on the website... in reality horror... we booked through our travel agency a standard room with king size bed incl breakfast. What we got was a small 2p bed rather a doubter. A room somewhere in the back corner of the hotel, not clean, dirty and broken curtains, a smelly room.Shower with mold, moisture on the door frames. I reported this to the reception, very unfriendly brushed off.... All beds are of the same size in Iceland was her answer, this is the room you are assigned. Very strange because we had a very different experience the last 13 days.... breakfast we could not eat due to early flight so I asked for an option to package to take away, we had finally paid. This could not be! Just because we only stay 1 night does not mean we should not get the same service, we pay the same price!
