Stallen Bed and Breakfast Defence Colony

This is our second time here we highly recommend it. The location is perfect, the staff are friendly and helpful and the breakfasts are a great variety. The rooms are spacious, especially the rooms with a separate lounge area. Nothing is too much trouble 🙂

I booked this accomodation after reading many favourable reviews and as it is supposed to be located in a desirable area , We left the very next morning it was so bad . On arrival the young man at reception could not have shown less interest in making us feel welcome if he tried , I had booked a luxurious king room with city views 5 months earlier and pre payment was required otherwise I would have left on the spot , the room was on the ground floor adjacent to the kitchen and the toilet on the ground floor and was dark and looked out on an alleyway , not a great start .As we were tired from travelling we decided to stay the night and see hiw things went , it only got worse , when my husband asked the same man at reception for help with the safe he was rude and obnoxious and told my. husband to “listen” , we let it slide and decided to go out to eat , when I asked for directions he abruptly gave me vague directions and showed no interest in his guests at all as if we were an annoyance .Through the night the aircon wasnt working properly and water had dripped all the way down the wall where the tv was also mounted which created a huge puddle on the dresser and all over the floor, amazingly the tv didnt blow up , I was woken by the cooks banging pots and pans preparing for breakfast ( no fault of their own ) and someone in the toilet singing and doing their dailys . The toilet in our room had mould the door handle was disgusting and the shower surround was crusty , mirrored wardrobes had cracked glass and the mattress was terrible . I woke and decided we were not staying, my husband went to reception to talk to the reception desk where he found the same young man sleeping on the couch at 8am with barefeet on the couch while other staff were preparing breakfast , he jumped up when my husband told him we wanted another room and explained all the issues and said yes yes, but he made no effort to check and went back to his position on the couch , I was so angry and disgusted with his lack of interest I told him we were leaving and wanted a refund of the remaining 3 nights , at no point did he even go to our room to check the problems . I then called Agoda and explained the situation they were extremely helpful and organised a refund , we then went directly to the Crowne Plaza Oakhla , fantastic hospitality. All i can say is that this is the first time I have ever left a property and we are a couple whi have travelled far and wide and have moderate needs but this place was a disgrace , the young man at reception is rude and arrogant and has no idea of hospitality and how to deal with customers ,breakfast was questionable with hygiene standards considered sub par , Avoid this place .

We have stayed here for the past 16 days. The room was comfortable, the staff were so friendly and went above and beyond. Breakfast was great. We had dinner a few times which was lovely, and authentic. We are coming back next year. Highly recommend 🙂
