This hotel is a budget hotel But overall an average place to stay. Rooms were of ok size but both rooms and washrooms needs maintenance. Staff behavior needs lot of improvement. Food was also average.

Reccomended by an aquantence who had never stayed there (it turned out) this hotel was a complete horror show. My Wife, Sister, Niece and I were visiting New Delhi and had made reservations for this hotel. We arrived at 3:30 a.m. to find an argumentative front desk clerk who could not/would not find our reservations. Eventally, about 45 minutes of battling revealed my reservation but not my sister's and neices. Finally they were accomodated in the nearby Paras Hotel, same owner, same attitude. The next few days were filled with harassment at both hotels as they told us alternately that we had to move out as our reservation was only for 2 days, as opposed to the 2 weeks I had reserved. One midnight, my sister and neice were awakened by men wanting to 'check the TV'. it went on and on. After 4 days of this I found a nearby hotel, The Garden View and moved us into it. These people were welcoming, cheerful, friendly and accomoditing. It was even cheaper ! I have stayed at the Garden View again since and have not changed my opinion. STAY AWAY FROM THE SURYA SHELTER. STAY at the GARDEN VIEW ! Trips were November/December 2006 and August 2011-your scale below does not offer these dates.

This hotel seems to have been updated since the photos were posted. Perhaps it's under new management with Clark Hotels. Definitely a big change for the better. We came to Clark Surya from the Delhi Hotel down the street - a disgusting armpit of a hotel. We were greeted by the staff right away, and made to feel at home. Our rooms were wonderful, clean, quiet, and the beds were the most comfortable - almost better than my own bed at home! I had the best sleep that I'd had in almost three weeks in india. We were given a decent rate too, thanks to it being off season. They were worth more, though! The staff were quite nice, and they helped us arranged taxis, tours, and drops at the airport. The food in the restaurant was mediocre, but the breakfast buffet was quite nice. I would most certainly stay at this hotel again! The only downside is that it's in Karol Bagh, which I found to be a disgusting representation of Delhi.
