Vivek Hotel

Unfortunately Trip Advisor does not offer an "Abysmal" Rating option so I have had to be charitable and settle for "Terrible". We arrived and were "greeted" by some surly staff with not a smile between them, some of whom were sleeping on bits of furniture strewn about the foyer and corridors. The building seemed to be half-constructed with exposed steel jutting out of concrete, various holes in the masonry and tools lying about. The whole building smelt of concrete dust and could not be avoided. Our bedroom had a small hole in the wall reminiscent of prison cell apertures. There was nothing whatsoever to commend the place other than be convenient for accessing Delhi Cantt Station. Avoid like the plague.

Near to new Delhi railway station. 10 min by Auto/Taxi. We booked to 2-3hr for freshen up and spending time between 2 trains.1 of the rooms was OK. Other room was pretty bad. lift was in working condition. Rooms are not that clean. Washroom was bit dirty. Not recommended.

During the lock down, reception wouldn't answer their phone when we were expecting important calls from our Embassy or family. They relayed important calls to the wrong room. Management pressured all guests to pay up, even tho' we always did. They didn't trust us. As the lock down continued, management became more unfriendly to foreigners. They claimed to have hot water, but we had to ask for buckets of hot water each morning. They couldn't wait for us to leave so they could close it down and kick out the last foreigner. I don't recommend this hotel at all.
