Country Club Treasure Cove

I will update this review when I complete my stay at this resort. Arrived at the Country Club Spa resort early this morning about 7.30am. There are 4 adults. My mum, her friend and her daughter. We took a taxi from the station to the hotel, journey was about 25 minutes and cost just under Rs.500. Check in was fairly straightforward but the guy checking us in at the reception is one of the most useless reception staff I have ever had the misfortune of having to deal with. He's snoozing most of the time, doesn't have a clear response for any queries raised. Basic queries, can we order a taxi from here for the day being one of them! Also to note.. while the venue boasts being a spa, the spa is actually closed "for maintenance", considering we mainly came for using the pool and getting massages while using spa facilities, 50% of our requirement of choosing this venue is already a let down and disappointment. Said reception snooze-lad couldn't even muster enough energy to give us an actual reason or any alternatives of where we can get a massage while on Kerala in this region. The rooms were fairly large and spacious and all the bathrooms and rooms seem to have had a recent upgrade and all look very fresh and new. There's a small mini fridge in the room that u can plug in and use as well which is convenient. We then proceeded to have breakfast which was wonderful so that gave us a bit more hope. Will update here on how the next 3 days go along with the facilities!

The hotel is quite distant from the Thiruvanthapuram railway station. but the local bus service is better and cheaper than the cab service. Property is poorly maintained. unfortunately (and why I do not know) this property is given to OYO/another online portal and not exclusively for country club members. The backside of the property has a beach, good/ but road is bad. Food quality and the menu is poor at their restaurant. multiple times I had to skip breakfast and/or lunch due to this. I talked to the F&B manager also but no luck. The room was good and peaceful.

the entry road to this property is very bad. i had stayed in this property 10 years back and had excellent memories of that time. but this stay was a shocker. the property is supposed to be Country club owned. but they have tied up with oyo now. the property is in bad shape. it has 2 pools. the bigger one is closed . there were broken furniture all around in the property premises. breakfast had only idli sambar and puri chole. the menu has limited veg options, and from that also, most of the stuff is not available. we ordered dosa from room service and we were told dosa is not available. seriously , can that happen in kerala ?? whatever food we could order was also so bad and oily that i vomitted immediately after dinner. the rooms were luckily ok. Kovalam has very good beach resorts and budget stay . avoid this property.
