Elphinstone Hotel

This was my fifth stay at this hotel and as always i had a wonderful experience. The location is very good, it’s close to CSMT station and even metro station is at walking distance. The rooms are clean and good. The staff here is very polite and helpful. The atmosphere is also good . It’s an affordable place to stay and value for money.

Perfect stay.. Rooms were well maintained. Service was excellent. Breakfast was good as well with lot of options. Location is also good.. all i can say is close your eyes and book it

By far the worst hotel experience I have ever had, for several reasons. First and foremost, the person who cleaned my room stole my gold bracelet. I went through several procedures with the hotel and its management to obtain the relevant CCTV footage, and I was eventually provided with video evidence showing the staff member taking my bracelet from my room. This was an extremely distressing experience, particularly because the bracelet had significant sentimental value to me. Having a personal belonging stolen from your hotel room by a member of the cleaning staff is simply unacceptable. Unfortunately, the problems did not stop there. The hotel was extremely dirty. On several occasions, my bed linen and pillowcases were replaced with visibly stained ones, including brown stains. This is absolutely not what I would expect from a hotel, regardless of its price point. The hotel also turns off the air conditioning in the rooms whenever guests leave for the day. I understand the intention of saving electricity and reducing unnecessary energy consumption. However, the design of the hotel means that most of the property is essentially open-air, with corridors that are more like outdoor terraces with railings rather than enclosed hallways. As a result, the entire hotel becomes extremely hot and humid. Coming back to the room after being out all day and having to wait for it to cool down again is very uncomfortable. DISGUSTING !! The choice of room also matters enormously. Some of the smallest rooms are genuinely awful, with two tiny beds and essentially no window. I strongly recommend checking exactly which room you are booking before staying here. I have travelled to around 20 countries and stayed in countless hotels, including in countries with considerably fewer resources than India, and I have nevertheless had far better experiences. Even if you are travelling on a tight budget, I would strongly recommend looking at other options. There are plenty of affordable hotels where you can have a much better experience. For me, however, the theft of my bracelet is what makes this experience particularly unacceptable. It was not simply a hotel stay that fell below expectations.
