When we made the booking, we thought a luxury room would be a nicer one, but instead it was very small, with barely any room to walk around. Otherwise the breakfast and the staff were nice and it is fairly clean.

It is disappointing that guests are not reviewing this rare gem in South Bombay and also disappointing that management is not reading and responding to the earlier reviews. Anyway, here goes. This is a small, boutique type hotel in South Bombay in one of the best locations in the city that is the most affluent and surrounded by plenty of dining and cafes and shopping within walking. The hotel has been around for years but was completely renovated just a couple of years ago and has made a buzz since then. It is packed solid even though the rooms are very compact and barely suffice for 1 adult. Except for a couple of rooms (301. 302), the rooms are even smaller than Ibis or Ginger and come in a variety of sizes and configurations. The mattress is too soft for my liking. There is no counter space near the sink or in the shower for personal toiletries, the shower floor is very slippery. Room 302 bathroom had mold in the shower. There are bathrobes and slippers, an amenity well beyond its price level. The highlight of this hotel is the breakfast on the rooftop under the leadership of Tarak, the excellent chef from Nepal. It puts 5 star hotel spreads to shame. They have amla and beetroot juice and kothmiri wadi and customized made to order grilled sandwiches , none of these I have ever seen in a hotel buffet. There are the typical INdian breakfast staples besides a daily special item, along with bottled milk shakes and lassis. However, beware, you will be joined by crows flying down to scoop up from your half eaten plate. You may have a complimentary foot massage while being serenaded by live flute music. Another caution. The ceilings in the lobby and hallways are very low and as a 6'1" guy, I have bumped my head quite a few times., especially in the Reception area. I have complained many times but it falls on deaf ears and they are only asking for trouble. Besides the excellent breakfast, the staff bends over backward to serve you.

Unfortunately our stay wasn’t pleasant at all. From being charged 300/- for a bottle that broke in the fridge because we wanted cold water in the 40 degree indian heat, and they never have any instructions to not put the bottle in the fridge. To randomly telling us that we need to speak legal authorities as my husbands passport had J&K as address not me as mine was a Delhi address, all of which by the way never ended up happening- we were happy to speak and waited for the next steps- but it seems it was just some weird intimidation tactic by the hotel.
