We recently visited Bottecino at Trident Oberoi for brunch, and unfortunately, the experience fell well below expectations for a brand of this stature. From the moment we arrived, the welcome felt disorganized and unprofessional. The receptionist, Jocelyn, appeared unsure about whether brunch was being served, was unclear on buffet timings, and quoted an incorrect price per person. This created confusion right at the outset. Seating was another concern, as we were placed directly next to a speaker with excessively loud music, which made conversation uncomfortable. Service overall reflected a lack of training and product knowledge. The junior staff were unable to clearly explain what non-alcoholic beverages were included in the brunch package, which is a basic expectation. The sushi counter was particularly disappointing. The female chef appeared overwhelmed despite the restaurant being only half full, resulting in slow replenishment. Additionally, the attitude came across as unwelcoming. Displaying sashimi without actually serving it is misleading and should be avoided. Hygiene was also a concern, with noticeable flies around the sushi section, which is unacceptable. From a culinary standpoint, the offering did not deliver value for money. The dessert spread was disproportionately large compared to the rest of the buffet, which lacked variety and depth. There also seemed to be an excessive number of chefs around the buffet, without any meaningful contribution to the guest experience. That said, Gaurav’s attentive and professional service stood out and helped salvage the experience to some extent thank you to him. Overall, this was not the level of experience one expects from the Oberoi brand. We hope management takes this feedback constructively, as we do like the venue and would be open to returning if improvements are made.
