Alam Batu Beach Bungalow

We had the absolutely best group dive vacation here! It was absolutely wonderful. The grounds were exquisite, the rooms were VERY comfortable with A/C in each bungalow. I can't say enough about the staff!! The diving was spectacular! In two words, it was Wicked Awesome!

All and all, I'd rate it 4.5. Walking the entire service trail from day 1 to day 10. The driveway to the entrance was a little off putting. Lots of garbage on the road to get to the front desk. This worried me a little bit as it was the first thing I saw. However upon entering the property, I was soon a happy camper. The property itself was very nice, unique and the staff was very welcoming. The lobby area was very inviting, clean and with great views. My room was also very nice and everything worked well (although the shower lack water pressure). My first meal was very good and that remained consistent throughout the remained of the trip. My compliments to the chefs and wait staff.... all exceptional. Night time activities were nonexistent. This will be a positive for some as it is very quiet at night (except for barking dogs and roosters) and a negative for some perhaps looking for something more lively. ....but I was there to dive. The diving: I found the diving to be good on most days. The House Reef was great on both the left and right side. I particularly enjoyed it as a shore dive both morning, noon and night. The Liberty, Emerald Bay and Black Forest were also great! Most of the other sites ranged from good to okay. Yet, I will acknowledge that I get bored of long repetitive muck dives and l will also acknowledge that I have become spoiled. However, if you love muck diving, I will also acknowledge this area is probably the best I have been to. If you like large animals, walls or swim throughs, this area is probably not for you. The dive staff was also very good. They provide full valet service..... and i want to stress full valet. You wont have to carry a thing! Susan manages a very well run machine, from day 1 to day 10 everything was handled and schedule perfectly. Dolfi, our dive guide was also great! The boats, well, some were better than others. Ive done maybe 30-ish, international dive trips, staying at roughly 30-ish different resorts. Overall, this resorts is definitely in my top 5. Staff, in my top 2 or 3. Food, top 2 or 3. Diving, top 6 or 7, yet I wish to stress, Emerald Bay and Liberty were epic! Overall, it was a very good experience and many of the 30 people in my group immediately said they would definitely return. That's very high praise from a well traveled group of spoiled divers.

We were part of a group, Adventures With Scuba Steve, and the experience at the resort could not have been any better. The staff was amazing, the food incredible, grounds were so beautiful and plush, rooms great and I truly enjoyed the outdoor shower, and the spa was truly the icing on the cake. Our group came to dive, although I am not a diver, Danny made sure to keep both divers and non divers busy. They are truly a full service resort that will not disappoint. And the nicest staff you will encounter. Thank you Danny and Susan for everything you do. And to all of the staff we saw and those behind the scenes, thank you so much for all you do. I highly recommend this resort whether you dive or not.
