Rama Villas

I have stayed here many times over three years and had a good experience at first, but this place has gone downhill over time. We rented a few villas for more than one month over three summers, but have moved to another location because we were not satisfied with the maintenance and service here. Here are some examples of the issues we encountered. While the villas were spacious and clean, not all the beds have mosquito nets and they never managed to put them up after requesting many times. Often times water would stop working and it took ages for them to restore it. There were stray cats as well as cats owned by longterm residents that would frequent our villas to beg for food and one of them ended up biting two people, who had to get rabies shots. Nothing was ever done about the cats after this. Plus, the pool was often dirty and had dead animals in it a few times, so we stopped using it. After all the business we gave them, I thought they would take our concerns more seriously, but nothing was done address these issues.

We arrived late at night and we discovered we were in the middle of nowhere... It is far from Sanur Center. So we had to call for a pizza because they had no restaurant either. Next day we rented some bicycles to find another place and we found something beachfront, central and cheaper. The villas are big and nice, but the cleaning was not very good. The breakfast was good, it was served to your villa. They have a children park, but it was dirty and rusty. They have also a nice and big pool. But I really didn't feel comfortable at any moment at that place.

We were a bit scared at first as we did not find reviews about this place, but we were very tired and really needed a place where the kids could have a separate room. Rama villas is good for resting, the rooms are big, there is living room area where the TV is ( so the kids woke up watched Tom and Jerry ( not many kids chanels but there were one or two) while we could sleep in a little. There is a kitchen, good fridge size, stove, water bottle, cuttlery. There was no pan but the manager provided two on request which was enough. Breakfast was included and we pre-order a night before, and brought to your villa in the morning. We had a good terrace and a private garden. Internet connection was very poor, sometime the only way to connect was going to the lobby. It was not so clean, but for the price we paid it was very good. We even decided to stay two nights more and were given a better rate than the one we paid through a website. It was about 10 minutes walk to the beach which was goot do go with children but tiring to return, but a taxi would cost only US1.50 ( minimum fare on meter taxi). We liked Sanur a lot, much better than Kuta for families. the place is a little run down, but it seems the manager has to make up budget to improve the facilities. staff was friendly and the manager very attentive. If on a small budget with more days to spend in Bali we would return, it is a good option!
