Grand Bali Villa

We had a great 3 night stay here at Grand Bali Villa. Some paint was peeling in the bathrooms, but that didn't matter to us. We paid a cheap price for our stay and were very impressed. Great breakfasts each morning, we got to pick what we wanted each morning. Great pool! Felt very secure. They rang taxis for us whenever we wanted. Great friendly staff. I would definitely stay again.

Stayed in one of the villas. Firstly the gates had no locks so when you left, the gates would be wide open. With no safety deposit box, the only security was to lock a bedroom. No pool towels. When I asked for some, I was given a set of grayish bathroom towels about the size of a tea towel. Come to think about it, there were no tea towels. Only TVs in the bedrooms, none in the common area so could not watch any sport other than sitting on the bed. The bathrooms had the plaster and paint falling off the walls - not unusual to have clumps in the bath after a shower. The actual shower was like an open drain. No emergency supplies at all such as salt, pepper, tea bags etc. The fridge was missing its freezer door so could not freeze ice cubes. The list goes on. Distance is JL Legian is a 15-20 minute walk. Had to go and buy pool towels, a tea towel, sprays etc. Overall, has I not paid up front, I would have walked out immediately - BTW I am fully aware of the difficulties of maintaining properties in a tropical environment but having stayed in 17 different villas over the past 4 years, this presented as the worst in condition and value for money.

Check in was good, staff provide extra towel, all was good until after 6pm, many mosquito appears, aand the pool lamp is broken. The receptionist was really helpful, he tried to contact engineering and the supervisor in charge mr Sudana, but no one pick up his call. There was no alternative solution, nothing.
