Jimbaran Cliffs Private Hotel and Spa

This place is beautiful from the pictures, however they seem to leave out the extremely run down and dirty surroundings. Air conditioning was poor. Pump on the pool was broken so the water wasnt the cleanest. Cushions on the bed beside the pool had cigarette burns on it . Stray dogs all around the hotel. Sounded like there was a pig slaughterhouse beside our room but we cant be sure because all the noise was coming from a steel shed and we couldn't see anything. Lighting outside by the pool was very poor. The main pool had broken tiles and was very dirty. Too far to walk to anything. Food was average. The staff were very friendly which was one nice part of the stay. Checked out a day early and found somewhere else. Very Disapointed.

We stayed at this hotel for 5 nights and it was the last of 4 hotels we were staying at on our trip and overall this was the worst hotel. Location: Poor location. Hotel is named Jimbaran Cliffs but it’s not actually in Jimbaran it falls within a residential area of Nusa Dua.They should be more transparent that the hotel is not in a tourist area and not within walking distance to anything. At night it is pitch black and located away up a rural hill with lots of stray dogs so you’ve got no chance of walking anywhere. Room: We had room 102. It was spacious and had a decent sized pool. The room was dirty and overall the whole place needs a deep clean the walls are dirty dust everywhere. Toilet was leaking along the floor into the shower area and there was a permanent stain on the floor so it’s evident this had been happening for a long time and ignored. The cutlery they use needs cleaned better and any glasses they have look very old or are chipped. Pool towels they provide also need to be replaced as they look worn and have stains all over them.The furniture is worn and the outside bathroom had wires overhanging at the shower area which is dangerous. There was also a sewage smell in the room and outside our door everyday and if you ran the taps in the bathroom you could smell it. The bed at the pool area is covered in stains and full of ants so stay away from this as I don’t want to imagine the amount of bacteria on it. Food: Poor. Have a big menu but they don’t stock everything.They should just have a smaller menu. Food didn’t seem fresh and breakfast was the worst meal we ate. We ate here a few times for convenience but ate out and ordered food in by GoJek. Staff: We didn’t really speak to the staff much as we stayed at our pool or went out during the day. They seemed pleasant enough and it’s not there fault the hotel is the way it is. I think the owners of the hotel need to spend more time and money trying to improve the hotel. One morning we were going on a trip and the whole place was pitch black with no lights on at reception and the full place was full of water which we didn’t realise until I nearly slipped and broke my neck. It hadn’t been raining so I don’t know where this water came from it was so dangerous. Also if someone is using the pool in the room above 102 if you are going along the walkway and they jump in the pool upstairs loads of water falls down so prepared to be drenched. Coming from the UK regardless of the price you expect somewhere to at least be clean and to a certain standard. I think when this hotel first opened it would have been nice as everything was new but since then it seems it hasn’t been maintained properly.

The best thing about this hotel are the rooms & the private pool. We had 103 which was spacious, clean & an awesome bathroom. Room was cleaned daily & as per any hotel if you leave your towels out they will change them. They leave incense burning in the bathroom & it smells lovely. The pool is a god send as it was so hot. They do ask you to turn the pump & filter off at 11pm, which is fine if you can get to it. Ours was behind some bamboo plant but we used the selfie stick to do it lol. The pool is very clean & we even had a lilo dropped off to use. Food is a whole different matter. There appears to be 2 different menus one in your room (for room service) & 1 in the restaurant. There's more choices not available on the menu than there is available. We asked for 2 beers waiter asked large or small, large please, sorry we only have small. Why ask what we want then if you have no choice. Breakfast was not good. Not sure how they did the fruit juice but it was very watery. Which we later came to realise it must have been tap water used, so as you can imagine we were very poorly for quite a while. We tried a Greek Salad I think the feta cheese was 1 cube sprinkled over the top of the salad, looked a bit like snow flakes it was that sparce. Fillet steak with red wine sauce, 1 of the steaks was fine but the sauce was literally red wine warmed up. Food has really let this place down, nothing good to say about the food at all. Location well, this is not just a hill lol. The hotel is up a backstreet hill, onto what you would only call a dirt track, passed all stray dogs & it's at the end you can't go any further. There's no beach in walking distance. In fact to safely get from the hotel to anywhere you need transport. Lots of steps involved as you have to go down to get to most rooms. Bar has 4 wine glasses on show, none of the tables are dressed in the restaurant so it really gives a feeling that this isn't used much & it's on a tight budget. Only 2 ceiling fans worked so the restaurant was very hot. Really had the feeling that you were putting the staff out as there was only us using it. A couple of cats walking all over bar & tables where you could sit & eat. Never saw owners or anyone else really apart from a couple of staff. We had booked for 13 nights but after 5 nights we checked out & found somewhere else. My partner & I both had very bad stomach upsets for over a week, which started after 3 days of being here. Once we'd moved hotels this started to ease a little so obviously wasn't food eaten any where else. Its certainly not the star rating it portrays. Would we stay here again, DEFINITELY NOT & we wouldn't recommend it either.
