The Maya Seminyak

We have seen a deterioration in the Maya Seminyak since our last stay and was told was new management Needs a deep clean fresh paint and its very dangerous when walking out to laneway which leads onto ear street as it is 2 way traffic bikes and cars and making it dangerously difficult to walk in such a narrow lane way The one bedroom pool villa needs a refurbishment especially the bathroom The bath looked like it hadn’t been cleaned for sometime and remained that way for the 3 days we were there . Missing bamboo on the top fence and peeled paint on walls outside. The reception area lounge had stains on it and needed a clean , a very underwhelming welcome and on leaving was the same . Certainly not up to the standard from before new management

Two roomy villas, 2 bed and 4 bed. Well maintained. Good beds. Good wifi. Friendly staff. Big breakfast. Daytime experience spoiled by construction work next door varying from mildly annoying work to pneumatic drilling. No mention of this on the site, so inform before booking. Our big group was split across two properties 400 meters away - not ideal for a family reunion. We were not aware of that when booking. Best memory was the warung opposite the main property.

I strongly advise travelers to think twice before booking this villa. On April 6, I made a 6-night reservation (June 20–26) directly through the villa’s official website and paid the full amount by credit card. I received both a booking confirmation email and a Room Reservation Number, so I had every reason to believe my reservation was fully confirmed. However, on June 19, the day before my check-in, I received a message saying that my reservation was not confirmed due to a system error and that there was no room available. This was completely unacceptable. I had a valid reservation number and had already paid the full amount nearly two months earlier. There was absolutely no mistake on my part. Fortunately, I was already staying in Indonesia, so I was able to find another place to stay at the last minute. But if I had been traveling by plane that day and arrived in Bali without knowing about this cancellation, I would have been left searching for accommodation after landing. That could have completely ruined my trip. Because the villa failed to honor our booking contract due to their own mistake, I requested a full refund. The villa replied that the full amount would be refunded to the original credit card used for payment and stated: “We will initiate the refund immediately. Please note that the refund may take up to 14 business days to appear on your credit card account, depending on your bank and card issuer. Once the refund has been processed, we will provide you with a refund confirmation for your records.” However, more than 16 days have now passed, and I still have not received my refund or any refund confirmation. From beginning to end, I have experienced nothing but excuses, poor communication, and irresponsible handling of this situation. My reservation was confirmed, my payment was accepted in full, yet the villa failed to provide the accommodation and has still not refunded my money. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend this villa. If you value reliability and peace of mind, I suggest choosing a different place to stay.
