The Mulia

Just amazing and very thoughtful & accommodating of dietary requirements.

Excellent property. Would not stay anywhere else. Its our home away from home. Been visiting here every year since 2015 (excluding Covid). It was our ninth visit (stayed at both the Mulia and the Mulia Resort) and wont be our last already looking to book. From the amazing grounds and impeccably clean rooms to the beautiful welcoming staff from housekeeping, wait staff to the butlers they all cant do enough for you. I cant speak highly enough about this beautiful resort.

My wife and I have just returned from a wonderful 6 days at The Mulia at Nusa Dua. To describe the property, the service, our room and the friendliness and attentiveness of the staff as amazing would be an understatement. From the moment we stepped off the plane to the moment we very reluctantly stepped back on it to come home 6 days later, we were treated like special guests. We stayed in a Baron Suite overlooking the pool and the ocean. The room was stunning, with a large balcony that included a dining table, day bed and outdoor spa - we are always a bit dubious about hotel spas but this one was spotless and very hard to resist. We ended up in it most nights! The room itself was very spacious - a large and comfortable king size bed and a massive bathroom with a large freestanding bath tub, twin basins, large shower and an enclosed toilet with a high-tech Japanese toilet that did everything for you - and I mean everything - with its heated seat, variable washing jets, heated dryer and automatic flushing. Quite gimmicky but after 6 days, “Toto” became a good friend! The extensive pools were incredible. The beach was clean and the day beds on the beach were comfortable and well spaced apart, providing both shade from the large umbrella as well as plenty of opportunity for sun-baking. We did not leave the property during our stay and dined exclusively at the resort restaurants, all of which were 5-star and remarkably well priced. Our favourite was Edogin, the Japanese restaurant, with Table 8, the Cantonese restaurant close behind. In both cases I would recommend the buffets, which offer both buffet and a-la-carte options. For example, we often selected some great sashimi from the buffet and then followed that with some wagyu and seafood selections that we chose fresh and had cooked on the spot and delivered to your table. Soleil is also a great restaurant down by the pool and you can also have Tapas at the Sky Bar and other dining selections at the inside bars and lounges. 4.00pm “Happy Hour” in the Lounge was also a highlight each day - 2 hours of free-flowing drinks, food selections and a solo performer to entertain - a great place to relax and make new friends. But by far the highlight for us was the warmth, friendliness and attentiveness of the staff. For anyone that has ever cruised with Seabourn, Silversea, Regent, etc., the Mulia staff would be as good or better. It is impossible to thank everyone personally, but special mention must go out to Wijaya, Agus, Rima, Ari and Aris. They all made us feel special and welcome and made our stay one of the best of the best we have ever experienced. We will definitely be returning to the Mulia on a regular basis. One final comment - I would strongly recommend arranging transport from and to the airport through the Mulia. The cost was about AU$36 each way. You will get a better price from the cabbies at the airport, but when we arrived at Denpasar Airport late at night, it was absolutely chaotic. Once we cleared customs we were greeted by a man from the Mulia who took our bags and escorted us through the chaos to a waiting car. Again on the return trip, as our car arrived at the airport we were again greeted by a man from the Mulia who took our bags and escorted us to the check-in counter. It was absolutely seemless and saved us the stress and anxiety that would have resulted if we had tried to do it all ourselves. For anyone contemplating a holiday in Bali, you will not be disappointed with the Mulia. It is without doubt one of the world’s great resorts.
