The Shanti Residence

Poorly maintained villa. Cleanliness was a major issue. Great location but the experience was spoiled by the lack of cleanliness and the host was also not responsive to our concerns. We literally had to move out the next day to a nearby hotel.

Elite hell - The “Ashanti” Residence I rarely write reviews like this, but people need to be warned. What was advertised as a residence experience turned out to be one of the worst hospitality experiences of my life. Within hours of check-in, the issues were stacking up: rooms in a visibly run-down, neglected condition, a non-functional AC (in Bali’s heat — completely unacceptable), a sink with broken drainage actively leaking water, and snails in the bedroom. By the next day, we also found mold and fungi growing in the rooms — a serious health hazard — along with additional pest issues. Most alarmingly, there was a snake on the property, which made the environment feel genuinely unsafe. To top it off, the staff was repeatedly asking guests for money to buy groceries for breakfast. A hospitality establishment soliciting cash from guests for basic operations is something I have never encountered before. I formally requested talking to the management but they refused to come on call. The property is not fit for guests in its current state. Save yourself the stress and book elsewhere in Nusa Dua — there are far better options at every price point.

We had the most amazing time at this villa, exceeded all expectations. Incredible staff, they are so friendly and welcoming, cooking amazing meals and keeping the place super clean and tidy. The view from the main pool area is so beautiful, and feels private and peaceful.
