Villa Kubu Sanur

The host offered a stay here because the villa we originally booked with her had an emergency and she refused to cancel the online booking because she would get a penalty from Airbnb. Even after asking a couple of times she refused to play (and refund) by the rules of the website and instead offered another villa she rents out. She called it an upgrade and a win win for all, so we gave it a chance. But once arrived we noticed construction work going on next to the villa, with workers looking down into the bedrooms and on the pool from just two meters away, and ofcourse combined with all the loud noises that come with construction work. Besides that the whole place just looks deserted although the giant bedroom she showed looked good. The rest of the villa was closed off for us so I can not tell much about it. The host told us we would have to leave earlier then usual the next day because new guests where coming. So we should then just move to her own garden. Because of all this I would not be able to score this as value for money for now. Even with the major discount we got. It's quite big, that's true. But it's easy to find a similar or nicer place to stay in Bali. Left within an hour after heavy arguement with host who got rude.

As I understand, there is other Villa Kubu near Kuta. But we were in Sanur and it was perfect. Very friendly and helpful owner and his wife. Pool, kitchen, wi-fi available for free. Possibility to order food and rent a scooter. Location is not very good - 15 minutes by walk to the beach by busy streets. Transfer from the airport available. I recommend this place for holiday at Bali!

To ensure you have a great stay book the standard bungalows that are situated in Ogu House Villa only . The other villas which I have stayed in do not look after you like the owners of Ogu House and are very tired and run down . Yasuo Ogura is very helpful and gets out of his way to ensure you have a great stay . What ever you ask him for he does . It is a quiet villa complex with 3 rooms to pick from ( renovations going on at the moment for an extra room ) It is very relaxing and peaceful . Please be aware there is no breakfast despite what is advertised . It is best to make the booking with him to make sure you get his villa and not one of the others , he can be contacted on Facebook just send him a friend request .
