Bumas Hotel

Lovely staff, but unfortunately I wouldn’t recommend staying here. The staff are genuinely lovely, friendly and welcoming — definitely the best part of Bumas Hotel. Unfortunately, the hotel itself was very disappointing. Australian travellers should be aware of the payment situation. We were told to either pay in AUD or pay in rupiah using their exchange rate of 12,760, while we were only getting around 12,225. This should be made much clearer before arrival. The hotel and grounds are very run down. We never saw the pools being cleaned, only heavily chlorinated. A cup left outside sat there for nearly a week without being picked up. Our bathroom was dirty enough that we went out and bought cleaning products to clean the bathtub and bathroom ourselves before showering. We had to ask for the toilet seat to be replaced because it was disgusting. We even bought our own toilet brush because there wasn’t one we could keep in our room and it appeared one was being shared between rooms. The beds were like rocks and we had stained pillowcases. The photo attached is what the mattress was put on. We knew we were booking a cheap, 3-star hotel and weren’t expecting luxury. But budget accommodation should still be clean and properly maintained. We’ve stayed at other places around the same price that are far cleaner and much better looked after. The owner should honestly be ashamed of the condition this hotel has been allowed to get into. You have lovely staff representing your business — please invest some time and money into looking after your facility and bringing the cleanliness and maintenance up to an acceptable standard. Being a budget hotel shouldn’t be an excuse for neglect. The staff deserve the praise, but unfortunately we would not recommend Bumas Hotel or stay here again in its current condition.

I absolutely do not recommend this hotel. Apart from a beautiful green garden it deserves only 1 star from me. There is an unpleasant smell throughout the hotel, including in the rooms. The hotel is poorly maintained: lamps did not work and had to be replaced on request. The mattress smelled extremely of sweat, and although the sheets were changed daily, they were always stained. Breakfast is the same every day, without vegetables. The staff were not sincere and the prices were inconsistent (bike rental). In addition, a driver tried to trick us with an absurd price for a short trip. This is without a doubt the worst hotel I have ever stayed at.

Very very bad hotel. Room and bathroom goor. Toilet overflowed 3x. Bed linen dirty as well as breakfast. The person who gives this hotel a passing grade sleeps in NL I think under a bridge. Owner refuses to take steps to improve.people keep coming because you only pay 28 euros per night per room.
