Teba House

This is my third stay, and I love the family atmosphere, the great staff, and interacting with the Grandmother. Great language lesson exchanges with the head staff member, Wayan. It is only about a 10 minute walk to the Central Market, just around the corner from Monkey Forest Road, and a five minute walk to Coco Supermarket, with a pharmacy across the street. Lots of restaurants, shops, Fabulous vegan - Pumpkin & Beetroot, plus new Tan Panama Coffee both about 50 metres away. Lovely massage and nails and lots of restaurants in the street. So inexpensive, but air con and great wifi. A lovely peaceful garden. The cleanest street in Ubud according to a lady who has been here 5 months! Just being resurfaced, with perfect footpaths. I will continue to stay here as long as I can.

hello This is my second review since I arrived earlier today. There is much to like about Teba House but I have some concerns. I am not comfortable with the poor air conditioning in my room. I hope a better one can be installed or I can get a new room. Also. My mattress is very uncomfortable. I am an 83 year old with disabilities. I am also unhappy that there is no staff on the property from 9 PM until 9 AM the next morning. I am legally deaf which does hinder my communication with the one staff person who is very good in trying to meet my needs. He helped me with getting extra chargers and getting WiFi. I lost Internet too often. The grounds are beautiful. I look I do need a second key for the lock to my room. at times a friend might come by and I would not hear him knock. I hope I can give him the second key. He is very reputable and I depend on him for much. I look forward to relaxing as I read and work on a book I am writing. I am hoping to meet the owner hopefully tomorrow. Also, I don’t see information regarding breakfast which I believe was included. Hope my concerns are addressed. Thank you. Lewis

Filthy bathroom, shower wouldn’t stay on wall and I ended up burning myself, toilet had actual urine on the bowl, the main toilet was like nothing I have ever seen, disgusting fridge, 4 hangers in wardrobe, brown suspect water under fridge, mould all over ceiling in bathroom, end of sink fell off, no kettle, no drinking water, no cups, tea, coffee or milk. No towels, requested some and they looked like dish rags. Our door wouldn’t even shut let alone lock! Owner really hostile when we pointed out issues after our bed BROKE. We physically just layed down on it! He literally chucked us out of his establishment in our pyjamas at 9:10pm with nowhere to go. He accused us of doing this to his “beautiful room”. We had booked a deluxe!! He also tried to say we hadn’t booked breakfast when we had and we had to spend some time after 30 hours of travel digging out receipts. If you look at other reviews this isn’t the first time he has done this. Him chucking us out was made worse by the fact my friend had just taken his epilepsy medication that make him heavily disoriented so basically we ended up stood outside in PJ’s in the dark with all our suitcases with one drugged person and me a 55 year old lady in a very busy city we didn’t know with no where to go!!! DO NOT book here!!
