After completing medical needs the day before, I continued my journey by staying at Horizon Aziza Hotel Solo for 2 days and 1 night, from 14 May to 15 May 2025. I chose this hotel because it is known as a star syrian hotel, with a rather strategic location near the Klewer Market and Keraton Solo.
Check-in and welcome
Check-in during the day went well. Hotel staff are friendly and welcoming with sharp Islamic nuances, such as greetings, interior with Middle Eastern accents, and Islamic instrumental music in the lobby. The check-in process didn't take long, and I was directed to my room on the top floor.
Room & Facilities
My room is Deluxe type, pretty spacious and clean. Comfortable beds, cool air conditioning, availability of al-Sajadah, Al-Qur’an, and kiblat indicators – very supportive of a calm atmosphere and worship. The bathroom is clean, hot water works well. There is also free Wi-Fi that is quite stable, useful for accessing medical results or advanced booking.
Medical Travel
Since I am still in advanced medical tourism, this hotel is suitable because:
Close to several specialist clinics and hospitals, such as Dr. Moewardi, PKU Muhammadiyah hospital, and some private labs.
The environment is quiet and noisy, very supportive of post-control recovery break or light care.
The hotel staff responded when I asked about transportation services to the hospital or looking for nearest pharmacy.
Tour around the hotel
The location of Horizon Aziza Solo is strategic enough to reach tourist and culinary attractions:
Surakarta Kasunanan Keraton and Solo Great Mosque are only about 5–7 minutes' walk away.
The Klewer Market can be reached on foot, perfect for shopping and by-by typical Solo.
I also arranged dinner in Galabo (Gladag Langen Bogan), the Solo culinary night centre that can be reached by vehicle less than 10 minutes from the hotel.
If you want a nostalgic atmosphere, Ngarsopuro Night Market is around Jl. Diponegoro can be an option (depending on opening day).
Food and Service
Breakfast at the hotel restaurant is quite varied and halal certified. The combination menu between Nusantara and Middle Eastern cuisine is quite authentic.
The staff of the restaurant was also very friendly and attentive when I ordered a menu without spices for medical reasons.
📌 Small note
This hotel is specifically for guests with a spouse or family, so make sure to bring a marriage certificate if you stay together.
There is no minibar (according to the Shari'ah hotel concept), but room service is fast enough if you need water-free mineral water (payable) or an extra towel.
✅ Conclusion
Horison Aziza Hotel Solo is the perfect choice if you are looking for hotels that:
Support comfort and tranquillity during medical trips
Close to cultural centers, large mosques, and traditional markets
Suitable for street nursing patients, patient families, or Muslim tourists
I am personally very satisfied with the service and the atmosphere of the hotel. If there's a chance, I'd like to come back to stay here for a fine healing while undergoing medical control.
