Tugu Blitar

We arrived by train, and the hotel is not located far from the station. With heavy luggage, however, one should take a taxi or a Grab. The hotel is the oldest hotel on Java. There is a main building and an annex. We were able to stay in the main building for nine nights. The rooms are furnished in colonial style, the bathroom (in our case a bathtub) is located outside. Therefore, one should stock up on mosquito repellent and mosquito coils. The hotel does, however, also provide mosquito spray. The room was very large, clean, and functionally furnished. The staff members are accommodating, polite, and attentive. We were always greeted with a smile. We chose this hotel because of the great cuisine. The food is always fresh and the dishes - authentic Indonesian - are prepared. But there is also fish and chips and pasta. In the morning, you are always greeted with a great breakfast buffet. However, should you have special requests (for example, omelet with special requests, fresh juices, vegetarian Nasi Goreng...), these are fulfilled immediately. The coffee is produced from their own coffee plantation and it tastes excellent. A tour of the coffee plantation is possible by arrangement with the hotel. The hotel is strategically located in the center of Blitar (near Alun-Alun and a shopping center). The hotel is currently being expanded with new rooms. We are very excited. We will definitely come back.

I had a great stay at Hotel Tugu Blitar, the atmosphere was very comfortable, peaceful, and relaxing, there are so many antique items. The staff were very friendly, kind, and helpful, they always greeted me with a smile and made me feel welcome during my stay.

This was my first stay at Hotel Tugu Blitar and I loved the old colonial style, with antique Javanese decorations. The room was comfortable and clean, very calm, a nice break from the city noise…but also close to the station and city center, which was a nice bonus. Staff were warm and friendly ❤️ Breakfast had a good mix of local dishes. We just found out about the Kawisari plantation tour that goes with Hotel Tugu Blitar. We’ll definitely try it next time.
