This hotel's location is more suited towards tourists visiting the old town, rather than the business area of the city. The room was clean, quiet, and functional. Crossing the street to get to the old town (5 mins) is a bit of an adventure, though not as bad as in some other southern Asian countries, particularly Vietnam. There are several nice museums within 10 minutes' walk. Staff were friendly and helpful. The pool was unheated, so too cold for me, even in the tropical heat. The breakfast was better than most, although not the best of our Indonesian trip. A report by a prior poster that one can't buy water nearby is factually false. There are convenience stores about a 6 minute walk away.
