The staff was welcoming us nicely. But they need to prepare the amenities before the guests arrived. The hotel is in the great location, big pool.

I stayed at this hotel with pretty high expectations because it used to be an ex-Sheraton. I think, even though management has changed and the name has become Akar Hotel, the standard of service and facilities will remain awake. Unfortunately, my experience is far from hopeful.
I arrived at about 10 a.m. after a long trip, just wanted to get some rest. However, the check-in process is the most exhausting experience. The hotel couldn't find my booking, although I've shown a confirmation email from Hotels.com. The verification process takes over 30 minutes, plus about 10–15 minutes until the room is ready. A total of almost 45 minutes just for check-in — this is the longest process I've ever experienced.
The room I booked was quite far from the lobby, close to the tennis court area. Unfortunately, the condition of the rooms is very disappointing: no bathrobes and sandals are available, warm water is not maximum (tends to be cold), air conditioning is noisy, the internet is so slow that even video calls are often interrupted, and the floor feels uneven at some points. With a rate of around RMB 1 million per night, the experience I can feel is far from the price paid.
The most disappointing was at breakfast. Decorations hanging in the dining area seemed dusty — exactly above the food — and some cakes were served without a cover. Things like this should be a top concern, especially for hotels that used to be sheraton.
Overall, the experience staying at the Akar Hotel this time is well below expectations. The potential of this hotel is actually great, but it requires serious refinement in service, hygiene, and facility care.
I stayed here with fairly high expectations since this property used to be a Sheraton. Even though it’s now under a new name and management as Akar Hotel, I expected a decent level of service and maintenance. Unfortunately, the experience was far from that.
I arrived around 12:10 a.m. after a long trip, hoping to rest quickly. However, the check-in process turned out to be the longest I’ve ever had. The staff couldn’t find my booking even after I showed my Hotels.com confirmation email. It took more than 30 minutes to verify the reservation and another 10–15 minutes for the room to be ready — 45 minutes just to check in.
My room was quite far from the lobby, near the tennis court. The condition was disappointing: no robe or slippers, unstable hot water (mostly cold), noisy AC, very slow internet (video calls kept dropping), and uneven flooring. For a rate of around IDR 1 million per night, it really wasn’t worth the money.
Breakfast was the biggest letdown. Decorative hangings above the dining area were dusty, and several cakes were left uncovered. These are basic hygiene issues that should never happen, especially for a hotel that once carried the Sheraton name.
Overall, Akar Hotel has potential, but management urgently needs to improve cleanliness, service quality, and facility upkeep.

The hotel is good for families, the kids are hot and the food is good. Thank you Ms. Hendra & Mbak Rismah for his service.
