Sheraton Senggigi Beach Resort

We last visited the Sheraton Senggigi in 2019, and always intended to return, then covid got in the way and other priorities. This was the year we decided to return and were delighted that we did. The staff are really what makes this resort special. We will mention some who stood out for us, but are there are many more who help make this a great experience. Particular shout outs for the breakfast crew, Safrudin, Hartono, Ayu, Salju and Dae who all welcomed us and recognised is as returning guests. They looked after us throughout and by day 3 knew where we wanted to sit, what the coffee order was etc. They're a great bunch and nothing was ever too much. Exec chef Rahman gave us a wonderful cooking lesson by the pool including a market tour. We will be making his signature peanut sauce at home. Thank you to all the spa staff who gave us many relaxing afternoons. Also Anik at the pool who was very quick to help when one of us got stung. The restaurants are really nice, breakfast being the stand out (ask for the eggs benedict). The seafood buffet was really good. The evening service in the restaurants is very friendly but in all honesty is the one area of the hotel that could do with a bit of refinement. Its fine when you know to what to expect but until then, some of the basics are a bit surprising (4 people sit down to eat and get given 3 menus, someone within the party will wait long time for their main). There are plenty of places to eat outside of the hotel, very few on the beach nowadays. Coco loco is still there and still great and very well priced, but its not the beach any more. We had the two bed villa and it is amazing. Just amazing. We really needed two weeks of doing nothing and that is exactly what this delivered, in style and with a smile. Huge thanks to the staff we mentioned as they made this really special for us. We will surely return again.

Unacceptable service issues for a 5-star hotel. We are currently guests at the Sheraton Senggigi for a 9-night stay with half board. We chose this resort knowing the Italian and European standards of this prestigious name, but the experience here is a total disappointment. The main issues that are ruining our stay: Nightmarish dining: Identical menu for lunch and dinner (monotonous for long stays) and biblical wait times, up to two hours. The peak was reached last night: I ordered a Caesar Salad without dressing. First, they brought me a Caprese by mistake. After 25 minutes, the Caesar Salad arrives but with the dressing. After another 20 minutes of waiting, I was served a plate with only lettuce and eggs, This was my dinner after a chain of embarrassing mistakes. It’s just an example! Deceptive beach: It does not match the glossy official images at all, and we never saw any staff cleaning or tidying it up. Lack of quality control: Many towels provided at the pool are visibly dirty, stained, worn, and torn. After sending a formal complaint email, the hotel tried to settle the matter with a phone call in English. Upon my refusal and the request to respond in writing to the email so that I could translate it, total silence. Terrible customer service. The only positive notes about the facility are the Spa, which works really well, and the pool area which, aside from the towels, is well managed. For the rest, it is absolutely not a service worthy of 5-star Marriott standards. Not recommended.

We stayed in one of the hotel villas. Absolutely fantastic experience. Nice place, friendly staff who can help with everything. Good facilities in the hotel. Our villa had a fantastic outdoor area with exit to the beach.
