Matahari Yogyakarta

We came to yogya and stay in this hotel for 2 days. the location good because beside main road and near alun2 yogya. The room quite spacy and clean. But what make me quite dissapointed is the toilet and bathroom is quite old and looks not so clean. The bathtub event have a crack on it. The water heater is broken and can't shower hot water. I already contacted the receptionist and the technician already come to check. But the shower still can't showering the hot water.

This hotel is centrally located with a nice olympic size pool which is great to take a refreshing swim after a long day of sightseeing. The rooms were generous size with a decent area for watching television. Overall an enjoyable stay in the hotel and a great stay in Yogyakarta!

The four of us stayed for 4 nights and booked 2 rooms overlooking the swimming pool. We are friends from Canada, Australia, Surabaya and East Timor. The hotel is 20 years old and in the last 2 years the running of the hotel has been passed onto their children. The hotel is undergoing renovation to modernized the rooms and facilities, such as kitchen and rooftop bar. The hotel is located on the main street of Yogyakarta. It is walking distance to Western restaurants at Jalan Prawirotaman, Indonesian restaurants, batik workshops, money changer and supermarket. Pros: # Great location # The air conditioner was fantastic! # Good size room # Free and fast wifi # Huge swimming pool # The hotel can arrange car rental Cons: # There was no hot water # The linens and towels were clean but look old We had a wonderful time and it is a perfect place to stay while in Yogyakarta
