Stayed here for my sisters 60th birthday. The service was the worst I have ever witnessed. We ordered dessert with a candle for her. This was brought out after 20 mins, the waiter passed the table, twice, with the dessert (she was sitting at the table with balloons around her) and proceeded to give it to another table. (They weren't celebrating a birthday). Other guest blew out the candle. When they realised they left it at the wrong table (after about 10 mins), they removed the dessert and left it sitting out on a work station. Another 10 minutes passed before we got the attention of staff complaining about the delay in desserts, only for them to go get the one on the work station, relight the candle and bring to our table. We also ordered cocktails while in the thermal suite. Saw many guests getting their cocktails in large plastic pint glasses. Ours was delivered to us in paper coffee cups with straws, and the cups weren't full. It seemed that they didn't make enough and tried to split it.

My wife the Rev Caroline Burns was celebrating her 60th birthday having had a not so surprise party at the Golf Club in Carryduff we travelled the next week away for a couple of days. During those days away we came upon this wonderful wee place called the Errigal Country House Hotel. From arrival you are greeted at reception by lovely friendly welcoming staff to then stay in lovely rooms beautifully set out and very relaxing to be in. The hotel offers a wonderful spa including an ice bath, which I declined this time, but many couples were enjoying together. The restaurant staff are very welcoming and the restaurant is run by a lovely chinese lady with starters portions that reflected mains in presentation rather than starters and very filling. All in all eating and staying in this hotel.is a very very very plesent experience from entring the door to departure. Staying here was not only enjoyable for a first time visit, but very relaxing, however by the amount of others staying it is clear many also thought so, being return visitors. Our stay was not pleasent as a word would be used, more so the words delightful and refreshing alongside relaxing and invigorating would be the best way to drscribe this hotel. Tucked away I can't imagine the Errigal remaining a secret for much longer. The staff by their welcome, the cuisine and restaurant staff were very friendly and very attentive to our dietry needs and always made you feel you were special when they sar you ar your table for dinner and then in the morning breakfast, with a lovely selection/ variety of breskfast items offered. The only downside was having to say goodbye. Weather its a birthday treat a conference/wedding, business meeting, family stay etc. You would be foolish not to visit this hotel and avail of its many facilities available. I booked yesterday evening very last minute to use the spa facility 2 hrs later. Packed a bag for myself and my husband and left to travel. We had dinner first and a cocktail which was fabulous. I have to say as busy people we really enjoyed it and will most definitely be back soon. It’s a very handy facility to have 45 minutes away to be able to escape to.
