OLD GROUND

Beautiful room, excellent bar food, lovely staff and atmosphere

The Old Ground has a warmth and welcome which is hard to match. The owner is often present in the lobby and lounge areas tuning in with all the residents to ensure they are enjoying their stay. The rooms are very comfortable and the quality of pillows and towelling is very good. The atmosphere in the lounge/ lobby and bar is wonderful and would make you want to stay and not leave the place. The location is super, you step outside the bar and Ennis is on your doorstep. Breakfast is excellent with breakfast cooked to order and tea and toast brought to your table. This unfortunately is rare in four star hotels with most expecting you to queue and serve yourself! This sets the Old Ground apart as an excellent four star hotel. Well done to the team, we will definitely return.

Fantastic spot to stay with an excellent and top-notch staff. We had a drink in the bar and dinner at the restaurant in thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. The town is charming in the hotel is located exactly where you want to be. We had a flight the next morning out of Shannon, and this was a great place to stay.
