Maldron Hotel Smithfield

Stayed here with friends for a last-minute trip after the Mayo final and had an excellent experience from start to finish. The self check-in and check-out feature was an absolute 10/10. I work in hospitality myself, and it's definitely something I'll be mentioning to our management team. It was so quick, easy and convenient, and it really helped take the pressure off the reception staff. When we were checking out there was a queue at reception, but we were able to skip it entirely by using the self check-out screen. It was such a simple idea but made a huge difference. The room was fantastic – really spacious, spotlessly clean and the beds were incredibly comfortable. We didn't make it down for breakfast and didn't dine in the hotel, so I can't comment on the food. The location was great and made it really easy to get around Dublin. Overall, we had a brilliant stay and wouldn't hesitate to book again the next time we're in the city.

This hotel is nice, but not at all in the 4* category. Location is good, the first impression as well, the staff at the reception is very nice and helpfull. But unfortunately that's it. The room was very hot, no chance to open the window, only keep the balcony door fully open. Also, you are not allowed to smoke on the balcony. Also, a 4* hotel should have a mini bar - this one doesn't. The houskeeping was very poor for being a 4* -> dust on shelves, lights, phone...once they come to clean and you're in your room, they leave and don't come back for the day. The sink was clogged when we arrived, no body lotion or other basic barhroom essentials required in a 4* hotel - just hand & body wash and conditioner. Not worth the money.

Kéké : The hotel was well located, the staff were pleasant, and the room was very clean. The problem was that our room faced south, so it was very hot. Also, the TV wasn't connected. 3,5 / 5 Toto : The staff were very professional, the room was clean but the taps didn't provide cold water. There was no ventilation. 3,5 / 5 Mimi : We were looking for a room at the last minute and stumbled upon this hotel, which had a perfect welcome. We stayed two nights; it was perfect, very comfortable beds, very clean. Perhaps a minor criticism regarding the lack of ventilation in the room. But we highly recommend the hotel. 4 / 5
