Lough Inagh Lodge Hotel

Last week after a very misty day in Connemara, a very warm welcome awaited us, when we presented our selves for some bar food. The Manger remembered me from a previous visit. I was accompanied by three Australian relatives. Earlier in the day we had phoned ahead. We all enjoyed fabulous food, perfectly executed. The service was excellent. Actually everything was perfection. We could not have asked for more. Very highly recommended.

Our stay at Lough Inagh Lodge was nothing short of magical. Beautifully situated on the shores of Lough Inagh in the Connemara region of County Galway, the lodge looks directly across the water to the stunning Twelve Bens, whose ever-changing light over the lake provided a backdrop we won’t soon forget. The staff were attentive, friendly, and unfailingly helpful throughout our stay. Just across the road, a small path takes you down to the lakeshore, where stone jetties built up over a very long period of time allow fishermen to cast out into the deep waters of the lake. Although the lodge initially seems to serve as a very high-end fishing retreat, the nearby hikes and mountain views are equally spectacular and well worth lingering over. Our room felt more like a small suite, with a comfortable sitting area and one of the largest beds I’ve seen to date. The scenic beauty and the comfort of a hotel that takes you back a hundred years in the past combined to make our stay a truly magical experience — one that has us longing to return with a fly rod, a walking stick, and many more days to spend. Highly recommended.

A wonderful stay in this incredible, timeless hotel, the only building on a huge lake. Everything is fabulous, the view, the huge room, breakfast with homemade smoked salmon, all 15 min drive from Kylemore Abbey and Connemara National Park. Don’t miss the local gin at the hotel bar.
