Ballyseede Castle

We stayed at Ballyseedy Castle Hotel in Tralee while attending a wedding at the castle, and the experience was wonderful from start to finish. Our room in the lodge was spacious and comfortable, giving us plenty of room to get ready and unwind. The air conditioning kept things a bit chilly during the day, so we turned it down before heading out to the wedding from 3pm to 3am. When we returned in the early hours, the room had warmed up and we couldn’t quite figure out how to cool it back down, though admittedly we didn’t want to bother anyone at that late hour for help. Aside from that small hiccup, every staff member we encountered was extremely accommodating, friendly, and helpful throughout our stay. The castle itself is stunning, and the wedding was absolutely amazing, with delicious food served to all the guests. The staff clearly worked hard the entire time to make sure everyone had a wonderful experience. We also arranged a private driver who picked us up right outside the lodge for the next leg of our trip to Galway, which made the transition seamless - and overall, we highly recommend this venue and hotel for anyone attending a wedding or special event there.

I had a crazy day yesterday. I landed in Dublin and had a 4-hour drive to Tralee in a rental car, which had problems. I made it to Ballyseede Castle but my car needed work. At reception, the phones were ringing off the hook, and many people were checking in. In spite of this madness, Rachel took the time to help me. She set me up with her personal auto repair shop in town, which solved my problem and alleviated my worry about making it back to Dublin on Monday. The care Rachel took with me went beyond amazing customer service and entered the realm of incredible kindness to a weary traveler. Once the car was fixed and I returned, Rachel encouraged me to have a pint at the bar, and I agreed. In the bar, I met a great barkeep and 2 lovely young hotel workers who continued to make my day great. The castle is amazing. The grounds are breathtaking. But what makes this place magical is the employees who animate it with love and kindness.

We returned to Ballyseedy Castle for afternoon tea and, as always, it was a wonderful experience. The treats were delicious, and the service from Doreen was excellent. We always love coming back.
