Woodenbridge Hotel and Lodge

We had a lovely two night stay in this lovely hotel. From check in with Shannon, restaurant staff and friendly bar staff to the nice pleasant lady who checked us out we couldn't ask for more. We had a lovely bedroom with a view of the golf course. We will be back😊

We we to the smokehouse for a girls evening. Staff very nice and the serving area such a fabulous setting. However we ordered the meat platter and for €35 was extremely disappointing. More for one person. One chicken skewer, one rib, half a corn, tiny bowl of chips, salad bowl bits if lettuce and half a tomatoe. Definitly over priced and would be reluctant to return due to the poor quantity of food.

Looking for a venue for a family break for the bank holiday weekend recently I was seeking somewhere that was within easy reach of Dublin, but far enough away to constitute a "holiday". Following a strong recommendation from a friend I decided on the Woodenbridge Hotel in Wicklow and it didn't disappoint. Old world charm abounds with comfortable bedrooms and relaxing public spaces. Plenty of dining options with good food and generous proportions and very friendly staff in all areas. And that's all before you leave the hotel and discover the wonderful Vale of Avoca. Don't go expecting 5* facilities, there is no need for the "add-ons" here, everything you need for a clean, comfortable and relaxing break are here in Woodenbridge.
