Gardenia Hotel

Our go-to destination when we come to Pescara. Days of muggy heat but we were very relaxed in their cool garden. Excellent breakfast, very clean room, and a special praise to the staff, very kind and very helpful. The parking is very convenient. Until next time!

Unfortunate experience in this hotel that, emphatically, calls itself “boutique hotel” but that is not, as it does not deserve the 4 stars. The only positive aspect of this hotel is the kindness of the breakfast person (I assume the owner) and that of the receptionist (I assume his daughter) and nothing more. Located in a residential area of the city, it is not a large building, where on the ground floor there is a small hall for the Welcoming of guests. Normal check-in (however, the pre-authorization on the credit card of the full amount of the stay was required). Room assigned to the upper floor (204), absolutely inadequate for the category that the hotel says it has. Small room (barely fit the bed), walls marked and even with holes (see photo), difficulty moving inside, dated furniture, lack of bedside tables (see photo) and I stop here. As for the bed, as you can see from the photos, it was two single cots, brought together, without the headboard and without even the double mattress, but with two single mattresses, joined by the sheet. It’s the first time that in the hotel, I find a bed without the headboard! Bathroom, slightly better than the room, but far from a 4-star hotel bathroom. Parking present, but not used (require € 20.00 per night, it seems really excessive). Wi-Fi present, but not used. Breakfast served on the ground floor, of decent quality, little variation, but with fairly good sweet products. Salty, however, prepared on request and, in our case (omelet with cheese), good. It remains, however, a breakfast of a lower standard than a four star. Piece € 120.00 (plus ‘4.00 for the tourist tax), for a total paid of € 124.00, exorbitant for the quality (poor) of the services rendered. I would not recommend it. Pier Luigi Menga (Naples)

Very friendly staff, attentive! Otherwise, the hotel is nice but contradictory. We had the large suite with a very well designed shower and bath area (in the basement), however, the water pressure is not enough to really shower for two. In the entrance area of the very interestingly designed suite (with open fireplace) were two simple beds (in front of the fireplace!) - but the room is definitely not suitable for families with the open design. There was no seating area (in front of the fireplace)! Breakfast: Italian, sure! But one type of salami and one type of cheese are then very manageable. Some corners fantastically designed (reading corner), others rather improvised, the underground garage was (when we were there) a huge pile of bulky garbage (4 parking spaces full). Maybe the nice Owners are also rebuilding - I don't know! Overall contradictory!
