Mare Blu Pescara

If you enjoy being a two minute walk to the beach and sharing vast stretches of sand and sea with others, Mare Blu Hotel is ideal. It is not luxurious but the food is good, the staff very helpful and you are almost on the beach as you walk out the front door. Beware, as in may Hotels in Italy, the bedrooms are small. However, as you are likely to be outdoors, this probably does not matter. All have WiFi and it is free.

Four of us stayed in this apartment when my daughter entered the Half Ironman. Pescara is a wonderful seaside resort. The beach, which is three minutes from the apartment, is fantastic, supplied with chairs loungers and even children's toys. The apartment is also well placed for restaurants and shops. We enjoyed sitting on the terrace, although the view pictured is from the next door building. The apartment was clean and comfortable. A couple of negatives though. Carolina and her husband, although very welcoming, do not speak any English at all (Google translation leaves a lot to be desired) and there was no pick up from the airport and although these were not insurmountable problems, it was a shame to be promised these things and not get them.

Mare Blu is PERFECTLY located for the Ironman 70.3 race: We could watch the shifting sea from the wide-open, comfortable outdoor terrasse. The apartment is clean, comfortable and filled with personal touches. One caveat: The apartment is on the fourth floor, and there is no elevator, so be prepared for a climb. There are two large bedrooms, each with its own bathroom. The larger of the two includes a nook with bunkbeds - ideal for families with children. There is also a pullout couch in the living room, so the place comfortably sleeps 6 to 8 people. Carolina is a delightful person and a welcoming host. I recommend Mare Blu Pescara without hesitation and look forward to going back!
