I must tell you that we were extremely disappointed and even shocked by the restaurant at the Maison St Jean. We were staying at another hotel but were on half-board at the Maison St Jean (arrangement by our travel agency for our TMB). I am not in the habit of complaining about anything, but in this case, it is impossible to say nothing. First of all, nobody was aware of my husband's allergies, even though we had reported them in advance. The Caprese salad had 4 slices of unripe, unseasoned tomatoes (we were given oil and vinegar to do it ourselves). Then we had to choose a first or second course, with a vegetable side dish. We received the dishes. The risotto was not cooked (crunchy rice! Raw!), and my daughter got sick. Then the side dishes arrived after the plates had been cleared; the potatoes were cold, mushy, and inedible, and the peas were frozen (or canned?)—I will let you see the photos. At this point, we normally would have already left... But there was still dessert: for the ice cream, the chef decides the flavor, not the customer. My husband and my son had it, and my son quickly felt that the ice cream had been thawed and refrozen. Both of them got sick!! My daughter's fruit salad was canned, and for me, the "seasonal fruits" were two apples and two apricots!! We expressed our confusion to the server, but there was no response, no reaction. Even if it is half-board, it is unacceptable. The cafeteria at my high school and at my work is much better. It does not live up to the advertised standard, and what's more, 3 out of 5 people got sick that very evening! Avoid at all costs +++

Part of our TMB accomodation. Hot day after hiking to find that our room is on the ground floor ( the only room I think) where there was no breeze through windows and made for a very uncomfortable nights sleep. No water when we arrived so we had to wait an hour till water came on. We had to cut our hike short and transfer back to Chamonix as my wife and another girl on our tour got bad food poisoning from dinner, very disappointing after travelling 24hrs from Australia. Hotel itself presents very nice and location is spot on, just bad luck for us

Everything really perfect: the hospitality that a family-run hotel offers you .... From Mr. Aldo , a truly remarkable and pleasant person , his wife and son , very kind and friendly people , all the waiting and room staff ... not to mention the chef and his superb dishes . Hotel in a strategic location, clean and comfortable. In a nutshell .... We can not wait to return ... we already miss you ... especially to Maury who tonight had to settle for my kitchen!!!! See you soon
