Il Casello

For the second summer in a row, we spent a night with a group of friends at Il Casello this past July as our first night in the valley for a week of trekking. I can't speak more highly for the warm welcome we received from Francesco and Teresa. Our group was a total of 9, and Teresa created a splendid home cooked meal complete with wine and a homemade cheesecake. The rooms and bathroom were very clean, and the bed was comfortable.The property has a secure parking lot if you are driving. Il casello is conveniently located near the train station and bus station. It's a great jumping off point for any trekking or castle tours of the valley. We're looking forward to staying there again next year.

In all my travels, I have never seen such appalling dirt in public showers and WC. Apart from having only one shower and one WC for females and the same for males for a floor of about 20 people, both male and female showers and WC were full of dirt and mould. For the whole 6 days that we stayed there, I never saw anybody cleaning anywhere. Merits less than 1 star. We wanted to leave earlier but the proprietor wanted us to pay the whole amount just the same
