Have you ever been to a wedding at Torre Coccaro? I have, two weeks ago, for the first time. And it was my wedding.
Stunning location, impeccable organization, dream food and beverage. And overwhelming pizzica!
A perfect team, which made our party unforgettable (so much so that our guests keep calling us to tell us how amazed they were!)
You only have to wish... they take care of the rest.
Thanks to Leonardo and the whole staff; you were great, you made our wedding an unforgettable moment!
Venanzio and Maria Giovanna.❤️

Our first stay in a Masseria and this region of Italy! Incredible location surrounded by 1,000 year old olive tree groves!! The property is huge and must be walked at night to appreciate the beauty and the way they light up the place! There are cave rooms but we stayed in the tower in a suite with a huge bathroom. It was older decor but we had a balcony and it was an overall cool experience in a place that we have never been. The highlight is the restaurant and the morning buffet as well as their name sake beach club which was one of my fav days swimming in the turquoise water and eating my hand picked Sea Bass and fries! Of course with Champagne! We also enjoyed riding electric bikes through the olive groves and exploring nearby towns. Last but not least, the spa is one of the most amazing hotel spas with a pool and the massages were perfect and not crazy expensive!! It's so stunning and the oils go back just for the spa!

On arriving, we were basically impressed with everything we saw and experienced. The hotel itself consists of a number of buildings in pleasant grounds, the latter featuring a quite large pool with a poolside bar, a number of sitting areas and also the ability to take a stroll around the grounds.
Our suite was very good and offered everything we wanted and more as there was a pleasant pool in the garden with plenty of outside seating.
However, the let down was the evening dining ‘experiences’!
The first evening we enjoyed the meal and felt the young lad and lass who served us were pleasant and friendly. That could not be said of the sommelier (or ? maitre’d) who wore a black suit which in our eyes matched his temperament!
Things got even worse on the second night, an evening when my wife ate by herself as I was not feeling too well. What follows are her thoughts on that experience.
‘’Unfortunately I really felt treated like a “second class citizen” to the point of not really being there ! The attention and service was reluctant or basically non existent. I had to ask for everything including, twice, for black pepper . The “ante service table” was just removed without a word by the older reluctant waiter whilst the young one was the most helpful to me in explaining about the choice of glasses of wine. Never once was I asked if my meal was OK or if I wanted another glass of wine or anything else for that matter by the older waiter. I have dined in restaurants all over the world on my own and have never been treated like this. Nevertheless I sent my compliments to the chef and kitchen staff on the quality of my food but which was sadly let down by the extremely poor service.”
The food on the third evening was again good but again the ‘man in black’ was his normal self while the older waiter who basically did little for my wife the previous evening, improved marginally.
So, though the food was good, we felt the overall service was poor and that there needs to be improvements.
OK, the hotel did not charge us for the meal on the second night but that still does not mean we should ignore the ranking we have given it and raise it.
If the service element had been at the level it should have been, then the ranking would have been higher.
