Masseria Palombara

I stayed with my husband and my young daughter at the end of August in this corner of paradise, well-maintained and immersed in nature. Here at Masseria Palombara, we were compensated for a bad experience at a tourist resort, thanks to the tranquility, cleanliness, and the excellent and genuine food prepared by the sweet and kind owner, Mrs. Luciana, her adorable children, and kind collaborators (for room cleaning, perfect and ). The rooms are spacious, clean (and I am one of those people obsessed with cleanliness), tastefully furnished, with a nice large bathroom. It also has mosquito nets (a rare thing to find in accommodations), air conditioning, and a minibar (with honest prices, like the entire cost of the stay, for that matter). The breakfast is excellent, especially the jams, honey, tarts, and desserts prepared by Mrs. Luciana, all good and genuine, with a homemade flavor that reminds me of childhood. In addition to breakfast, a brunch, a packed lunch, or an aperitif (different each time and always with products prepared by Mrs. Luciana) was offered as a choice, all truly good. Not to mention the dinner, prepared with products grown directly by them, oh my, how good. There is also a swimming pool, medium-sized and just right for rejuvenating after a whole day spent at the beautiful sea of Pescoluse, Maldives of Salento, and Lido Marini (you are spoiled for choice), which is about 2/3 km away and easily reachable by car. About 12 km from S. Maria di Leuca or Torre Vado (about 4 km) for an evening stroll with stalls, rides (Torre Vado), ice cream parlors, etc. I surely must have forgotten to say something, but it always falls under positive opinions, something I rarely encounter when I travel. If you are lovers of slow and non-mass tourism, it is truly an oasis of peace in every sense, and if I could, I would give it more than 10 out of 10!!! You always return where you have been well..

We stayed from August 22 to 31 and we had a really great time. The property is nestled in a quiet and pleasant place, ideal for spending a few days in complete relaxation. Making our stay even more special were the kindness, helpfulness, and hospitality of the owner, her family, and all her staff. We felt at ease immediately and were welcomed with great cordiality. An experience that we will carry in our hearts with pleasure and that we absolutely recommend to those looking for tranquility, hospitality, and a family atmosphere. We stayed at the beginning of July. The room was standard and, in general, the cleanliness was good, even though we found it a bit questionable that the towels left on the floor, evidently to be washed, were then put back on the towel racks. Unfortunately, however, the positive aspects end here. The packed lunch was practically non-existent and the breakfast also turned out to be really very meager and not very satisfying. The worst situation occurred one evening, when we returned after midnight and found ourselves without water, unable to even take a shower. An absolutely unacceptable inconvenience, especially considering that it was a stay in an accommodation facility. Overall, the experience was very disappointing. We will not return and we do not feel like recommending it.
