Castellinaria

Magnificent view, cordial service. Good breakfast. Fully automated suite. Super comfortable bed. Sandy beach, with all beach services, including a bar.

I must state that the staff was prepared and efficient. Only they deserve 5 stars; the rest barely reaches 4 stars. The property is not maintained as it should be; there are fountains without water, small basins originally built for water features and for coolness that have been emptied and are no longer in operation. Areas with sun loungers in the blazing sun, small tables without umbrellas to create shaded areas. The rooms are normal, nothing extraordinary; unfortunately, in some rooms (mine) the Wi-Fi did not reach, I pointed out the problem but nothing was resolved. The truly serious thing is that they share the beach with another beach club; in practice, we had other umbrellas both to the side and behind us (we were basically surrounded by the beach club guests - a very noisy beach club, to say the least). Basically, you think you are paying for a 5-star hotel and enjoying peace and privacy, and you find yourself around 11:00 AM witnessing sad water aerobics performances that you don't even see in Rimini anymore. Then, since the beach area is a cove, the sea is not even the typical Apulian sea; on the contrary, it is a closed-off sea. I must also point out that the breakfast is laughable; the breakfast counter is sad, really very little. I believe that the ownership does not really realize what 5 stars means, and I am convinced that if they do not take corrective action as soon as possible, things will get worse and worse, so much so that during my week, which was Ferragosto, there were very few guests. Perhaps the owners are banking on the reputation of the restaurant of the same name that they own downtown, but the truth eventually comes out. I will close by talking about the restaurant inside the beach hotel where I ate, fortunately, only on the evening of my arrival. So the food was okay, so kudos to the chef, but a prohibitive bill: two appetizers (mussels) and two first courses with two glasses of very normal white wine, without dessert... about 170 euros.!!!! They are truly out of their minds. I close this review by remembering that in addition to the natural beauties, of which Puglia is overflowing, entrepreneurial skills worthy of being called such are needed to be able to guarantee a certain level of tourism to a territory, also because the wind takes an instant to change direction. Thank you

The stay was superlative, from the room with a breathtaking view, to the beach. The courtesy and professionalism of the individual staff members in the various services were impeccable.
