MASSERIA FORTIFICATA DONNALOIA

Very bad experience. The masseria looks abandoned from the entrance and is in total need of maintenance. Nothing like a 5-star hotel as advertised. The services are low-level and almost non-existent. Do not trust the photos because they are certainly a few years old. The bathroom is worthy of a youth hostel with no hot water in the shower. We were housed in the basement and asked to change rooms, which was accepted for a very nice surcharge. We wanted to leave in exchange for compensation, but since the card was on file as a guarantee, the amount was going to be charged. As for the gym, even Rocky 1 had a nicer room and, above all, cleaner ;-) The only positive points are the breakfast, the young woman in the restaurant dining room, and the rooms which were cleaned every day; as for the rest.... By injecting the necessary funds, this place could be above average, but not currently! All this takes nothing away from the charm and beauty of Monopoli and its surroundings.

Masseria with a strategic location for reaching the beaches, the characteristic small coves of Monopoli, and the main attractions: Alberobello and the Castellana Caves. Cozy room and well-kept environments. Excellent continental breakfast with Apulian products: focaccias, pasticciotti, assorted croissants, warm tarts, and much more. The restaurant's location and the chef's dishes give an extra touch to the property; the white stone blends with the rural details, creating a peaceful refuge where Chef Tolomeo's offerings, along with his availability and friendliness, make the stay special. We found attention to the customer and the flavors of Puglia. We recommend Chef Tolomeo's spaghettone, with its enveloping flavor, and the panko-gratinated mussels, an explosion of taste. The menu offers various dishes; the sliced beef is also highly recommended.

The place does not reflect what it advertises in its photos. It is abandoned, faded, dirty, with the garden and plants uncared for. Floor with dry grass. Old, stained curtains and armchairs. We left.
