Blu Salento Village

We spent a wonderful week at the Blu Salento Village and we will certainly keep a beautiful memory of it. A special thanks goes to Tommaso and Gennaro, together with the entire entertainment staff. We were very impressed by their ability to truly involve everyone, from children to adults, with activities suitable for every age. There was always something to do for those who wanted to participate, but at the same time those who preferred to relax were left alone: never intrusive, never pushy, always present in just the right way. This balance, in our opinion, is one of their great strengths. Another aspect that we really appreciated was the restaurant service. We liked the food and found variety and good organization. A thank you also to the waiters, always available, kind, and professional, despite the intense work and the many guests to look after every day. You can tell when a facility works not only because of what it offers, but above all thanks to the people who work there with commitment and passion. On the last evening, at the time of goodbyes and photos with the entertainment team, we were truly moved. It was the most beautiful sign of how much this vacation has stayed in our hearts. Heartfelt thanks to the entire staff of the Blu Salento Village and a special greeting from Gaspare, Stefania, Nicole, and Viola. We really hope to be able to return.

Average village, nice overall, but the Comfort room with a Gold bracelet turned out to be a real disappointment. I would recommend eliminating the differentiation of the bracelets, because it creates expectations that the supposed privileges cannot satisfy in the slightest. Our “suite” was spacious, consisting of a bedroom and a small living room with sofas, but the two televisions were practically unusable: in 14 days we were never able to watch a complete news broadcast due to the constant “no signal” message. The real rip-off, however, concerns the Gold services. In the reserved dining room, the only difference compared to the buffet was the table service, which paradoxically turned out to be even worse. The menu offered a limited selection, and what was served often did not correspond to what was ordered: you would ask for baked potatoes and get french fries, while first and second courses were modified at the kitchen's whim. It was not the fault of the waiters, who were always kind, but evidently due to inattentive management. After a week, even though our table indicated our name and the dates of our stay, we were even asked if we would be staying for lunch. Upon our arrival, the table was no longer there: they had forgotten that we had booked for 14 days. They put us in a dark, cramped corner without air conditioning. The buffet was also reduced to a minimum, lacking even basic foods like vegetables. To our complaint, the maître d' simply replied: “Oh well, the important thing is that it was resolved.” An attitude that was anything but professional. Finally, the beach: a situation that was truly unacceptable. Umbrellas and sun loungers are so packed together that it is not possible to move them even slightly. To reach the sea, you are forced to pass under the umbrellas of other guests, and with even a slight rise in the water level, the first row practically finds itself with the sea under the sun loungers. Even the entertainers, during games, had to apologize because they inevitably ended up bumping into the umbrellas. I do not accept the justification that “that’s how it is in Puglia”: I have stayed in three other resorts in Puglia, and the beach spaces were definitely better. In conclusion, the resort can be pleasant if you choose standard accommodation, but the highly advertised Gold privileges absolutely do not justify the higher cost. In fact, in some respects, it is better to be with everyone else: at least the price-quality ratio is more honest.
