Borgo Bianco Resort Spa

My wife and I stayed here for a week in May and just loved it! Beautiful elegant hotel, yet very comfortable. In the country, an easy drive to towns on the shore (20) minutes to polignano. Staff was exceptional on every request. We had to go to the nearby ER hospital one evening, and their cab service took us and picked us up again about 4 in the morning. Restaurant is delicious. Can't say enough nice things. Definitely would stay here again!

The place is very nice and cozy. Close and good for using as a base to visit the rest of Puglia. The service, especially from Angelo, is perfect. Very dedicated.

Beautiful location and comfortable room with nice views of the Olive Grove and distant sea. There seems to be a problem with the staffing, however, and this means the overall experience is far from five star. Our room wasn’t ready as we arrived early- no worries. When we were eventually shown to it, there was a note welcoming us to the room written entirely in French and addressed to a different person. This note was seen by the lady who showed us to the room, yet it was left there for our entire stay. Dinner was a farce. The written menu bears no similarity with the food that’s presented. My husband chose ‘seared red mullet with crispy skin’ and he got a fillet of steamed white fish. No skin, no sign of searing. The waiter recommended the most expensive wine but I said we’ll have the cheaper one as it’s only 11%. The wine seemed a little heavy and on checking the label it was a whopping 15%!!! Breakfast is an endurance test. Plenty of staff but only the one with the iPad can take an order. Every request is met with ‘ask my colleague’. One person was wiping down empty tables but not removing any used plates from them. There is a woman floating around dressed in white. Her job description seems to be to look over the shoulders of other staff and to follow them around. She even follows the lifeguard around at the pool sometimes. When we were leaving, I had asked for a taxi at a certain time. Fifteen minutes after the time I enquired about the taxi. She smirked and said ‘you are in Italy Madam. ’. I certainly don’t expect such rudeness from staff in an expensive’5 star’
