Hotel Pineta

I didn't choose this hotel myself, but it was part of the options for a conference in Vico. It was a pleasant stay, everything was fine and nothing was exceptional. From the room, to breakfast, to dinner, to the sea, etc. It deserved three stars. Why four? For the cleanliness and for the friendliness, warmth, competence, and affability of all the staff. From the front desk, to the dining room, to housekeeping, to everything. Truly a very pleasant environment. If I really had to give a special shout-out, thanks to Domi and Rebecca. And why not 5 stars? Because of the price. I gather it is one of the cheapest in San Miniato and the surrounding area. But it costs more than double an equivalent property in Greece. Italy is no longer affordable. Better three weeks in Greece than one in Italy. For the same price. Too bad.

Simple hotel, even in the rooms, but clean, beds sufficient... The food is good, dishes even from Puglia, basic portions and often they couldn't give seconds, but all in all for a three-star it's okay. Sea rating 6, clean but nothing special. The partner beach club is not 200 meters away, and the shuttle only makes trips at scheduled times. In their parking lot, if you arrive before the others, you can find a spot. In the spots in front of the hotel, 8€ per day is requested even if you have a disability permit. Overall we had a good time... too bad that in the small town there is nothing to do and there isn't even a main street or a center... so you always have to travel to the nearby towns, Rodi Garganico at 5/6 km and then Peschici and Vieste, which are beautiful, at 15 and 30 km, but to save money it's fine like this, and you take the car 🤷. I would definitely go back.

Food no, breakfast was always lacking fresh fruit... The dishes at lunch or dinner were less than mediocre; the \"caserecce mare e monti\" first course stuck in my mind, obviously not in a positive way. I was expecting fish and beans or something like that... Instead, there was tomato salad, green beans, and squid... All ingredients eaten the night before... Maybe it's a coincidence??? . The maids were kind and attentive, room cleaning was excellent, shuttle service was sufficient. I would go back, but not eating there and not staying in the annex, which is full of noise starting as early as 6:45.
