Hotel Eden

I spent ten days in Puglia, with a couple of friends, choosing this hotel mainly for its strategic location. The breakfast and the courtesy of the staff in the dining room were excellent. That is the end of the positive points. As for the negative aspects: The hotel advertises "private parking subject to availability," without allowing the customer to reserve it at the time of booking the room; the hotel would need a good renovation, given that it has somewhat dated rooms. In mine, the wardrobe doors were missing, the bathroom and shower were small (anyone with a larger build cannot turn around) so much so that I had to keep the shower doors open to be able to use the toilet or the bidet (but the cleaning was good). Things that, wanting to be softer, could even be accepted... But the icing on the cake was the operation of the air conditioning in both rooms booked... totally absent after the first two days of the stay at the hotel. We pointed out the inconvenience and asked for a room change, but it was refused to us. We were provided with a fan. The manager tried to solve the problem with maintenance interventions but they were not effective because there is an underlying problem... The facility is now outdated.

The hotel is perfectly located as a base for surrounding villages: Locorotondo, Alberobello, Polignano a Mare, Monopoli, ... The room is spacious, with a freezer that does it perfectly. A small terrace with a clothesline to dry your beachwear. Corner is the beach (partially paid, partially free). Perfect to rest and refresh for a while. There are many nice restaurants in the neighborhood! The breakfast at the hotel itself was the best: a very wide selection: bread, cold cuts, cake, pastry, fresh fruit, yogurt, ... There is also a chef present who will prepare all the eggs you want (omelet, fried egg, ...) and makes pancakes. You can have coffee or tea from the machine, or have fresh coffee (espresso, cappuccino, ...) made. What struck me earlier was the bathroom: it is very old, the shower is very small. You can barely move in it, let alone wash your hair properly. We don't need luxury, as we are only in the room to sleep and shower. I know the Italian bathrooms are very small compared to what we are used to, but this was very small. The shelves next to the sink were also crooked, one of them even had a cardboard piece behind it to keep it in place; I didn't dare put anything on it. It is stated that a hairdryer is present: it is effective, but from the old days. You won't get your hair dry in less than 2 hours. What a plume: the soaps were refilled every day. Regarding wifi: only on the ground floor is there a connection, not in the rooms. The 4th floor is closed: there is no longer a swimming pool.

Big disappointment! A very attractive description but a very different reality. The \"private beach\" is actually paid and the parking is so limited that it is almost nonexistent considering the number of rooms. The \"subject to availability\" should be displayed much more clearly. The room is dilapidated with damaged furniture and the bathroom lacks cleanliness with very difficult water drainage. The whole thing is far from the photos presented. We spoke with the manager hoping for at least a commercial gesture or a change of rooms: no solution, no gesture. A much too large gap between the promise and the reality. At this price it is clearly disappointing and we do not recommend this hotel.
