The facility is beautiful and is in an excellent location, with the sea nearby and easily accessible. Our room, facing the sea and with two terraces, was really beautiful and we have nothing to say about that. The staff was also kind and helpful.
Unfortunately, however, the facility would need more careful maintenance. The carpets in the hallways were very dirty, stained, and often gave off bad odors. Even if they tried to clean them, the stains remained and the general impression was not the best.
Another thing that bothered us enormously was the presence, on the hallway window next to our room, of a pigeon nest with chicks. The area was truly dilapidated and dirty, with a windowsill in such a condition as to give one the creeps. It is a situation that, in my opinion, should have required more attention and cleaning.
The cleanliness of the rooms also left something to be desired. I had the impression that there were too few staff members to manage an entire facility well and that, consequently, the cleaning was done very quickly. It often happened that we returned around noon to take a shower and then go down for lunch, finding the room still being cleaned. I understand that, with so few staff, it is difficult to do everything to the best of one's ability, but the result was unfortunately visible.
Another problem was the deafening noise of the sewage pumping, which was carried out every morning around 6:30 and lasted more than an hour. I understand that it was a necessary operation and that it cannot be avoided, but the time and duration were truly problematic. Going to sleep late, at 6:30 in the morning one is still in bed, and that noise was truly unbearable. It would certainly have been more respectful of the guests' rest to carry out this type of operation at a different time.
As for the food, overall it was edible, but it could certainly have been better. What bothered me most, however, were the placemats on the tables: **they were always the same for the entire stay, they were not washed or replaced, and when we found them, they were already dirty and stained.** Seeing them brought back every day in those conditions gave me a feeling of poor cleanliness and, honestly, it turned my stomach. I would have preferred simple paper placemats, changed every day, rather than cloth ones reused without being cleaned.
Regarding the choice of food, I found it strange that products typical of the winter season were often served, such as fennel, cabbage, and other similar vegetables, while very few summer vegetables were seen. Zucchini, for example, we never saw, and peppers almost never. I would have expected a greater presence of fresh and seasonal products, especially considering that we were in Salento during the summer.
Fresh fruit was also rather scarce. At breakfast there were almost always oranges, apples, and plums, while at lunch there was rarely fresh fruit: when it was good, there was watermelon or, one day, melon. I would have expected a more varied selection and above all a greater presence of seasonal summer fruit.
The waiters, on the other hand, were in some cases truly very kind and helpful, and I have nothing to say about that.
The entertainment, in my opinion, could have done a little more, but honestly I wasn't there to live the resort life. I preferred to take advantage of the stay to enjoy the sea in the morning and visit the beautiful places in the Salento area nearby during the afternoon. I also went out often in the evening, so I didn't experience the facility much as a resort.
In conclusion, the location, the sea, the room, and the kindness of the staff are definitely the strong points. It's a shame about the maintenance, the cleaning, the morning noise, and some details that, with a little more attention, could make the stay much more pleasant.
