Hotel La Costa Smeralda

Reading the reviews, expectations were quite high.. let's start with the rooms, which are very spacious but have very uncomfortable beds, very old bathrooms, and broken French doors! The pool is also old and the sun loungers are dirty, everything left as if by chance. As for the food, we had full board, meals are served and you have to choose the night before for the next day, but we ate pork too often, served in various preparations; you couldn't choose the side dishes, so you were forced to eat what they offered you, only water was provided with meals, as for fruit they gave you grapes, grapes, and more grapes; it only happened a couple of times that we had a different fruit! And dessert was not provided; only on two occasions did we taste some desserts (on the Calabrian night and the white night). The Calabrian night was very much appreciated, however! At the bar, they didn't have ice cream or little sweets, so even if you wanted to buy them separately, it wasn't possible! Another sore point is the breakfast, always the same things, very meager! A positive note is that the staff is very kind The shuttle service to the beach is very punctual and available (another thing, you have to equip yourself for the beach because there is no beach club reserved for the hotel, so either you pay for a beach club separately or you equip yourself with an umbrella and chairs) The entertainment, on the other hand, was always very repetitive, even though the guys were very kind, but they evidently don't have enough material All in all it was not a bad stay but not the best either, there are many things to review and fix! As for the sea, nothing to say, the beaches are beautiful and the sea is crystal clear!

A beautiful accidental discovery in Calabria! 🌴 The property has a special charm and lacks nothing (only note: the rooms and the pool could use a refresh). The strong point is the splendid green area among palm trees and relaxation corners, along with the patio and the pool. The food is exceptional: very fresh ingredients and dishes made at home with heart. Staff always with a smile and super helpful owners. Special mention for the typical Calabrian evening: beautiful and delicious! If I were to return to these parts, I would definitely stay here again. ✨

We spent a fun week of pure relaxation. Very kind staff and amazing food! Well served by the shuttle to go to and return from the beach (paradise sea and beaches!!). Personally, I "detoxed" from my phone, and thanks to the fantastic and professional entertainers (Federico and Giulia) I rediscovered the beauty of playing and spending time with people. Great Vincenzo who, besides being an attentive waiter, cheered everyone up with his dance performances (special guest, the assistant Chef Jimmi, energetic with his "zagazaga dance"). I cannot fail to mention the "Calabrian evening"! A stellar dinner based on Calabrian products that is hard to forget. The only flaw was the wonderful piano that needs "fixing" (but I was promised it will be repaired) .. what can I say? See you next year!!
