A beautiful location with a breathtaking view, the sunset over Stromboli is fantastic. The hotel is quiet, the staff is very kind, and the manager Davide is always ready and available. Excellent cuisine, the chef prepared excellent dishes. The dining room staff is always smiling and friendly. Compliments to the manager Davide for how he manages the property. Highly recommended

I must premise that I had never been to this property, I had high expectations, positive reviews on TripAdvisor. I book to spend two nights with my family, arrival Friday, departure Sunday. We check in at 3:30 PM as provided by their regulations, time to change and go to the beach (Santa Maria) renting an umbrella and two sunbeds owned by the hotel. We use the shuttle service (for a fee) but at 6:00 PM we have to return as there are no other shuttle runs at a later time. At 8:00 PM we went to have dinner, the dining room manager seated us at a table, on which she placed a sign with our room number, and told us that it would be our table for the entire duration of our stay (breakfasts and dinners). We started eating, after about 15-20 minutes the dining room manager invited us to get up because that table (where she had seated us) belonged to guests who had arrived the day before us (at least that was the excuse). We had to get up with our plates and they made us sit in the outdoor area, which lacked an air conditioning system. Long story short, we cut dinner short and got up to return to our room. The dining room manager, noticing the scene, approached and, intimidated, told us not to tell the Director anything, fearing that he might fire her. We told the director everything, who initially did not believe our story, so we invited him to have his dining room manager come over. Once she arrived in the director's office, she acknowledged what we had told him. The director wanted to apologize to us, proposing that we sit at the table with him, after we had already gotten up. We declined the invitation and went back to our room. The next morning at breakfast, we were eating and noticed that the same episode happened to another couple, who were invited to leave the main dining room and sit in the peripheral room, all under the eyes of the director (who was sitting there eating breakfast). We came to the conclusion that it is a problem of poor organization on their part, and I believe that their interaction with guests shows a lack of professionalism. Let's move on to the food, good home-style cooking, there are no quality products, the fish is frozen, the meat is not of premium cuts, the first night it was osso buco, the second pork loin. As for fish, the first night it was pangasius, the second jumbo shrimp, but you could tell from a mile away that it was frozen fish. Appetizers were rich in vegetables, but here too, cold cuts were lacking (there was no trace of prosciutto) and cheeses (there was no trace of mozzarella, Parmesan, or pecorino). For a 4-star hotel, I probably would have expected a more high-quality offering rather than mass-market, but otherwise, as mentioned before, good and tasty home-style cooking. Let's move on to the room, the towels, one wet, one dirty, we had to call to have them replaced, the wardrobe had two doors that were unhinged (their technician came on the second day to repair it). We wanted to relax by the pool, but it was impossible, people were playing with balls, it happened more often than not that they would hit you with the ball or splash you while diving, we were not the only ones to complain, to one lady the guy at the reception replied that he could not call the police... Having to take stock, I say that we will not return, we will opt for other facilities in the surrounding areas (Capo Vaticano, Parghelia, etc.) that I had heard good things about.
