Fortino Bed & Breakfast

Vittoria's place is tucked away on the side of the hill overlooking the port in Capri and so a little difficult to find. But once you are there it is in the perfect spot. Just a few minutes down the stairs and pathway to reach the port with its gazillions of tourists, but when you are back home, all the peace and privacy you could want. Vittoria is an artist and she has created a space that is beautiful, decorated with her pottery and plants and with her ducks in the back yard. She is also very organized and greets you with information sheets with her recommendations for things to do on the island. And the second b is real, there really is breakfast out on her verandah - you could easily spend your whole day there. It was our anniversary and she organized a private round the island boat tour for us, together with lunch at a restaurant you have to reach by water.

Soleluna is located very close to the main port, Marina Grande - once you find the correct stairs... you can also try to take a bus (expect a long line) or walk up the main road (uphill so can get sweaty), or take a taxi to the entrance to the path (with stairs) that leads down to the B&B. Our room was spacious and functional but had no view whatsoever (the house itself has a lovely view and based on other visitors' comments, there's a second room with a view which we never saw). The breakfast for us was served right outside our door on a little garden patio. Vittoria was very nice and provided us detailed directions and tips on what to see and how to get around the island. Overall we felt the B&B was overpriced for the quality and the breakfast did not match the others we enjoyed during our trip on the Amalfi Coast where we stayed exclusively in B&Bs. We booked somewhat late, just 10 days before, during the main holiday season so our choices were limited. Capri is stunning however!

Even though it was hard to find at first, it was a very good location--equidistant from the marina and Capri center. Just make sure to contact the owner for directions before arriving. Vittoria was a very gracious host and really looked after my friend and I. The room was very clean, bright, and comfortable. She gave us wonderful restaurant recommendations as well. The breakfast she provided was delicious and we couldn't even finish it all! Vittoria thank you so much for making our Capri stay so pleasant!!!
