Jolly Caserta

I stayed using a Smartbox for the Royal Palace and Concert. I could not have expected better! The staff was very kind, with immediate and thorough responses to emails. I asked for something outside of their conditions and they accommodated me! The place is strategic; I was able to park my car in the hotel parking lot, so I could do everything without moving the car (Royal Palace, concert, lunch, and dinner in typical restaurants...). The rooms are very spacious and well-kept; mine was bright and at the same time quiet. Breakfast is standard but always abundant. I would recommend it and consider it for another possible stay.

For those who want to visit the Royal Palace of Caserta or attend a concert at the palace (our case), the hotel is in a strategic location. Just a few steps (really just a few steps) from the palace and a 10-minute walk to the center of Caserta. I had booked a parking spot at the Sant'Anna parking lot, but arriving early (12:30 PM) at the hotel, I found a parking space right in front of the hotel. It is true that there are at most ten spots, but in this case, I was lucky and was able to park for free right in front of the hotel. The highlight of this establishment is definitely the staff. Everyone is very kind and helpful, and this without any exception!!! Unfortunately, regarding the room, I was not very happy. Certainly, the room and bathroom are spacious and very clean, but with little light and no view. From our window, we could see a wall that was at most 2 meters away. I would say avoid room 148!!!! Dinner and breakfast were good, let's say average. For us, this hotel is not a four-star, but probably a three-star at most a three-star superior. In summary, strategic location (I also forgot to mention that the train station is just a few steps away), very kind staff, avoid room 148, maybe request a room with a view of the Royal Palace of Caserta, but in this case, one must be aware that there is probably the busiest road in Caserta below.

Really surprised reading positive reviews here. This hotel definitely is not a 4-star hotel. At least as of right now. Maybe 30 years ago. The hotel is extremely outdated. And the word "Extremely" is an understatement. I believe it was never renovated since it was built. Dirty carpets, mold everywhere.  The elevators are in really bad shape. Bathrooms.. oh boy... Lets put it this way, we used sleepers to take a shower, it wat that gross.. Smell when you enter a lobby... I can't really describe it , but think about the gray carpet that never was washed for the last 30 or so years, plus curtains that probably never were washed as well... We really wanted to leave, but we had a early morning flight and there is nothing better around....We got 2 rooms. Which we replaced immediately.  First room with round (1980 says hello!!) king size bed, with scratched floors and outdated furniture had broken lights that could be turned off. Cleaning lady tried it too, but says that we need to call technico.. Our kids' room next door had AC that worked like a tractor.  The two other rooms that we got as replacement were a little better, but no way close to 4-star hotel. Extremely outdated, with mold in the shower that look like half jacuzzi, half bathtub. The only positive in this hotel are people who worked there, they were very nice and helpful. Breakfast... well.. the room looked like a rundown cafeteria and the food was an Italian version of Holiday Inn type breakfast with better coffee. Parking in front of the hotel is very small, probably for about 8 cars, and there was not an empty space to park. Parking across the street had been closed for 2 years. We found a parking on the street in blue zones and with EasyPark app it was easy to pay for it. The reason why we stayed in this hotel is the proximity of the airport (about 25 min drive) and the Palace that we want to visit. Palace is extremely huge and the gardens are being renovated at this moment, so we were somewhat disappointed. Next time, I would try to avoid Naples area completely. (m from NY, but we are angels on the road compare to drivers in Naples LOL). We looked at the alternatives, and there is nothing better around, including hotels near the airport. But this hotel definitely should not be an option.
