Hotel Albatros in Piano di Sorrento did not provide what I would consider a four-star experience.
The property appears worn and poorly maintained. Our room had broken doors, air conditioning that barely functioned, and outdated, uncomfortable furnishings. The coat hangers seemed to be a collection left behind by previous guests, and the towels had frayed, worn edges from extensive use.
The staff was not particularly welcoming or helpful during our stay. The food was also disappointing and did not reflect the quality or authenticity I expected from Italian cuisine.
The hotel advertises itself as being 300 meters from the beach, which is misleading. While it is close to the cliffs overlooking the sea, it is not close to an actual beach. Reaching the waterfront requires a significant walk, including steep terrain.
I would not recommend this hotel for elderly travelers or guests with mobility limitations, as accessibility is challenging and the location is not as convenient as advertised.
Overall, this hotel fell well short of the standards I expect from a four-star property.
