We chose to stay at the Relais San Giacomo, property of Hotel San Francesco, because it had extremely promising photos and because we were looking for peace and quiet in a beautiful decor. I am rating this property three out of five for a number of reasons: - the sleep quality is poor because of the continuous street noise, it seems that people in Maiori never go to bed and the traffic noise is a nightmare, not to mention the fanfare that played for the Festa di San Giacomo until past midnight right under our balcony!! - we had to use ear plugs if we wanted to sleep and keeping the balcony door open was never possible at night - the hotel is on the top floor of a building with apartments owned by locals and the stairway, elevator and common areas are not exactly five star (some of the inhabitants use the stairway to smoke or even have their dogs lying around) - our room was poorly furnished - no chairs or armchairs, no table, except a desk - the cleaning they offer is rather superficial - our room had piles of dark long hair lying on the floor, which I had to thoroughly clean so I could enjoy walking barefoot What we liked about the property: - fantastic location - many restaurants and shops in the immediate vicinity - many beaches to choose from - please choose carefully, though (expensive, crowded and littered with cigarette butts!!) - our room had a great sea view (room number 1) - staff were very polite and available for any requests - our special thanks go to ANGELO, EMMANUELA, as well as to the other man who helped with bags and parking the car, whose name I don't know - we received good travel tips and support with local travel agents the hotel called on our behalf Breakfast was served in Hotel S. Francesco and it required a five minute walk. Variety of food was rather poor, but we enjoyed what they offered and did not ask for more. Our car was parked in the main hotel garage and the staff did a great job bringing it out in the morning and parking it back again upon arrival from various trips.

great location, with view on mediterranean, very helpful staff, valet parking for free, very nice breakfast in the very close by (300m) Hotel San Francesco, the room is very quaint and nice, internet connection very fast
