Residenza Pansa

This bed and breakfast was absolutely perfect. The location was second to none, we were in the heart of everything and so close to the pier and buses. Our room was incredible with an amazing view. We got breakfast included which was a beautiful cafe right in front of the Duomo Amalfi. The staff were so lovely and helpful and we were offered a free porter service which was a godsend. If we are lucky enough to ever come back to Amalfi, we would not stay anywhere else. Thank you so much for having us!

I didn’t appreciate this pension at all, mainly because of the glaring lack of cleanliness. Of course, it is located a few minutes walk from the Duomo, which can be convenient for those who want to stay in the center. However, I found this area very unpleasant: overrun with tourists, full of uninviting restaurants and souvenir shops with dubious taste. The architecture is messy, and the alley where the pension is located is dark and dirty. The room was very poorly cleaned: the floor was dirty (hair, footprints), the bed linen of poor quality, and the shower drained very poorly. The cleaning was not done on the second day. On the plus side, the staff were helpful, especially for arrival, luggage transport and parking management. As compensation for the cleaning not done, breakfast was offered to us, which was appreciated. The room also had a balcony, but unfortunately the terrace was dirty and very noisy due to traffic — difficult to enjoy so. If you are looking for a peaceful, relaxing and clean stay, I advise against staying in the center of Amalfi. However, if you like the liveliness of tourist areas, this may be suitable for you.
